Oh dear.

What were they thinking with those taillights?

EDIT: Actually, They havent Impressed me much truth be told. Theres something about them that is almost plastic still. To me they look to busy.

That said, the interior is nice.

Jesus, thats different.....

Only really looked over the R8 so far, wtf is with those fog light housings?

I tell ya, who ever they get there plastics off must be making a killing!

edit: after looking at the rest, surely its a joke? The interiors might be alright, but god, fake vents, huge plastic kits, strange wheel designs, and bizzare tail lights. Dont we usually bag the shizen out of those with our own cars?

According to this article there's gonna be 7 litre version using the zo6 engine.

http://www.motorauthority.com/news/s...ar-the-ve-hsv/

i know that engine has 500hp in the corvette but HSV always talks **** just like the hsv 427 bs.. Ford shud seriously up the boost in the typhoon just to laugh in hsv's face :hihi:

Pretty disappointed to be honest, given that the VE has been a fairly good release and that they were talking HSV up to be far better than what the VE SS V was already offering.

Same power between the R8 and the GTS ? I don't quite understand why it is that the GTS has been released. It has bigger wheels, and perhaps a couple of other gadjets, options and standards. Is that really something worth a GTS badge? Didn't the head of HSV a while ago comment that the GTS badge would not be used again until it was worthy?

In the picture on carpoint of what I believe is a red GTS and a grey Clubsport, I cannot really see any differences between the cars. The wheels don't look any different in size, it was only by looking at the rear of the GTS that I spotted the GTS badge.

The Senator looks like a previous Vectra, whilst I like the styling of it compared to the GTS and R8, it still doesn't look like a big luxury performance car. In fact, it looks like a mid sized sports car ala Mazda 6.

I also liked the comment, "with F6 torque in numbers, oh, but yes, it takes longer to get it."

Hope these cars look better in person.

i'm starting to get used to the VE shape, i went to the GMH open day yesterday and got to have a look at the car inside and out from the ground up.

i like the look of the VE and HSV front end, the back looks "ok" on the higher up models.
if there was ONE thing i could say i definitely do not like its the "gills" and profile especially from the side

Indeed, and Ford expect us to sit on our hands for another 2 years for the Orion update.

I bought my BA GT in 2003 and the lease is up next year. Will I buy another one virtually the same 4 years later for the sake of the Blue Oval???

Not without driving an HSV as a basis of comparison.

I Have been hearing about this new FORD ORION, although i have no idea what it is exactly what it is, Is it meant to be better than the XR's?, Where does it fit in?

Will it be at the motor show?

Thanks

I was looking at them last night...

Whilst I really commend HSV for the radical changes, the shape isn't very cohesive. I dig the idea of a different rear to the rest of the Commodore range, and I like the rear lights - they just don't suit the car as a whole. Have they had the same designer since earlier HSVs?

They're going to be seriously quick, and no doubt they will handle awesome with the new chassis.

Orion is code name for the "ALL NEW" 2007/8 Falcon to replace the BA.
Ford uses codenames
Ba was barra, XD was blackwood, XE was ironbark, another was redgum, EA was... EA26(wtf?), territory was raptor xr6T was seagull (*****$ over everything else).
Interestingly i removed a panel off my BA-XT dash other day, has manufacturing sticker "Barra-Forte" on the back so maybe XT moniker was last minute decision.

Sorry off topic.

Do you think Monaro owners will be ****ed after being told, no more monaro. Looks like they have just retired the name, but the coupe signature will be in full production. I feel sorry for those buyers who beleived they were getting the last of the monaro's. I'm sure most people identified monaro with the coupe shape.

Great marketing by holden to get sales up with announcement of the end of the monaro

GM-H have a lot of 2 door shells to get rid of it seems. Yeh there are no more "holden Monaros", but HSV will be knocking out Vt-z body shell coupes for a while yet.
Bl--dy thing is havoing more "finale farewells" then johnny farnham!

Actually I spoke to a Monaro owner just then and he said the same thing. Once the shells run out, no more coupes. He bought his as one of the final run out models.

Maybe if they were staying, they could call it the "Johnny Farham Monaro"

Looks better than the spy shots...

Infact looks pretty good. 307Kw, 6 speeds (no 4 speeds), nice interiors, meaningfully upgraded over the regular stuff. Magnetic ride control, huge brakes 20" rims etc.

A few better than fords trinkets. Front and rear parking assist with colour display of WHERE the objects are in front and behind. Rain sensing wipers, power seats, both seats. Digital speedo. Speakers in the headrests, puddle lamps

307Kw also makes it the most powerful manual sedan avalible, ever I belive.

Senator looks pretty nice.

GTS gets trick magnetic suspension, interior, exterior, most of the senator stuff like power seats etc.

275 rear tyres stock which must make it look pretty dam fat.

They are going to sell bucket loads of them.

Clubby @ $62 GTS @ $74 senator @ $76 but really the GTS = Senator.. The senator has standard Auto..

I think the GTS just helps justify the GTS-R that will arrive..

First with the 6.2L engine, then towards the end of its life with a 7.0L.

No E series Grange yet.. Pitty.. VE LWB has unique front. HSV I would imagine could make a pretty tough looking face out of it. 6.0L 307Kw 6 speed auto, bigger doors, bigger interior, Curtain bags, xenons, magnetic ride, premo interior. <$90k rival to a >$300k european luxury limo.. And when your selling the image of rough and tough hard hitting performance cars a bit more tyre noise and slightly less auto driving gizmos isn't a handicap.

HSV have lost the plot. I actually like the rest of the VE range but what drugs were the designers at Clayton smoking/ingesting/whatever when they designed the **** end?

Mechanically, it's not a bad package, but visually... I need to use the bathroom; excuse me fellas!
