Default Sledgehammers run at the Strip

Well folk, took the red one to the track last night amongst a very busy meet for its first sorting run. Didn't use any NOS and had a set of very tall hoosiers on which gave me virtually no traction at all, change noted for next time to self. (self buy new tyres). Running on engine alone it felt strong but let down by driver - self again take note - who missed third gear completely (even with a pro5.0 shifter t5) and then found 3rd to smoke the clutch (centreforce) and coast out the pass.

The result a 13.7........

Back on the trailer then as a few sorting issues to complete. I am now confident it will run a 12 on engine and you know what that means with a 225 shot.....

Next issue is the clutch or mabey even gearbox, im tossing up the idea of using a toploader with a vertical gate and im still having trouble getting my head around a C4....

May need to sell off some more parts now, LOL, interior, gearbox, IRS, oh my....

Outstanding potential there Sledge!

Looking forward to the numbers once your notes to self are taken note of! LOL!

Your car is certainly a wonderful, mysterious and fearsome beast!

Cheers,

GK

Well done Stu. Gives you a time, you know where to go from here. Maybe you should bring it to Melbourne or Sydney for a little bit of that Southern Fresh air. Sure your times would be a little better

Always need to do that first set of runs to work out what needs to be sorted. A lazy 13.7 just shows how much potential the car has. 12's are a given, 11's are not out of the question at all.

Look forward to seeing the times drop dramatically.

Damn ... everybody wants to get to the 13s now.
Your going to run a 225 shot of nos ??? What have you done to the motor to keep it together ??

I just seen your car profile .. It looks great
Did you have any trouble tricking to computer so you could run the carby ?
and are you running the Magna fuel pump and reg with a second line.
or did you "T" piece off the return line and run that back to the nos line?

No, no trouble at all, just simply used wirecutters and removed it....LOL.

Fuel system is completely new and stand alone, set up for NOS with twin regs etc, all stock lines were also removed, as is the original fuel tank.

Yes a 12 easy on motor alone I would think once I get it sorted, the 225 shot should pull it down to the magic 10 sec slot...

Hi Stu,

I remember when you ran the first 13/100 in your EB XR8.
Seems so long ago now.
Glad you've finally hit the strip in the AU.
Can't wait to see what this will do once sorted.
You deserve a 10 with the work you've put in to this.

(Sorry we didn't catch up at the Winters)

Cheers TD.
