You're obviously on a 1500k speed plan, so that's normal.

Default iPhone speed

I just got this on my iPhone. Judging by some of the other results it's pretty good for what it is.

Whats internode like? I've been on Telstra 1500k for ages, but internode has same speed with way more download for less money, but I'd hate for it to be like some ISP's and slow down heaps during peak hours and stuff like that. Telstra always works, but you pay for it.

Mate, internode is awesome!

I'm on the ADSL2+ Home plan with 40gb limit, $109p/m.

Downloads are always quick, net has NEVER dropped out...Just an all round awesome package. Highly recommend them, worlds ahead of Telstra.

Check out their website!

Also, my previous post...I'm am getting those speeds on my laptop, sitting on my balcony, a good 10m+ away from the wireless modem.

I was looking at the $50 a month one with ADSL2+ or when your in an area without it, it has 1500kb/s, 50gb a month. There must be some catch because it is cheaper then the ADSL2+ and the normal ADSL plans, yet it has both??

From my experience with internode, what you read/see is what you get!

I had a brief look at the FAQ...seems if ADSL2+ is available in your area, they will put in the ADSL2+ port...if not, you get the basic 1500...That's how I read it.

Well that sound great!! The only reason I'm not changing right now it because It'll take me a few months to swap over my parants bigpond email to a gmail (every email they get asking replying and asking them to change the email they have)... I wish we could just pay $5-10 a month to telstra and only keep the email address or something lol.

The difference between the Easy plans and the standard plans is that the Easy plans count uploads and the standard ones don't. That's it. The Easy plans were introduced by Internode to allow people such as yourself to compare plans with ISPs that count uploads and themselves.
The have been voted the number 1 ISP three years running now on the Whirlpool surveys and a few other independant surveys too. You won't go wrong switching over. I've been with them for about 7 years now.

$109 a month? That seems a bit steep.. I'm on 50gig and it only cost me $70 with Internode...

So is the ONLY reason why everyone isn't on the cheaper Internode EASY plans rather then the normal ones from internode because they count upload? Usually I only use about 2gb upload a month so it doesn't really matter to me. I'd use ideally about 25gb download though (but I'm on a 12gb Telstra quota lol)

Correct. There are some heavy uploaders out there, some due to P2P, some to legitimate reasons. The Easy plan wouldn't suit them so they would choose one of the others that don't count uploads.

Sounds like Easy would be a good plan for you then.

This is the fantastic speed from Optus wireless. Good HSDPA signal.
This has to be the worst internet i have ever had.
Complained to the Ombudsman and Optus have agreed to cover the cost of breaking contract.
This is just a heads up for anyone considering Optus wireless.

I'm with Bigpond. I know others are cheaper, but it's the only one I could get ADSL 2+ on the local exchange (country vic), and being an employee of a subsiary company I get a nice discount to boot.

^^ Had the same problem with optus HSDPA. They tried so damn hard to wiggle out of cancelling the contract, and on top of that they kept trying to bill me long after we cancelled it. I would HIGHLY recommend staying away from optus wireless.

Currently on Telstra NextG, since its the only one I can get out here in the sticks besides satellite. Line speed averages 600kbps.

Telstra Pre-Paid Wireless. 6GB for $100, seriously can't wait until we get fibre to the home run through here.
