Cadillac ATS is basically Fusion/Cruze size and weighs 1542 Kg
Ecoboost Falcon is much bigger and weighs 1644 Kgs

Somewhere in between those two sizes and measurements lies a
sweet spot that could attract a lot of buyers back to the blue oval..

How about something marginally smaller than the Mondeo; RWD or AWD 200kw/380nm 4cyl EB coupled to Mondeo style DSG 6 speed; seats, door armrest/window controls and centre console from the XR6; steering wheel, overall ergonomics, centre stack and driver interface from the Mondeo.

Where do I sign??

the closest Ford offering will be the Focus ST. Hopefully they make a sedan version as I think it's a good looking sedan this time around.

Ford Australia will need a massive media campaign to counteract the pro-Holden/Anti-Ford Bias of some journalists.

Unfortunately Ford Aus doesn't seem to care about marketing the Falcon

Prove me wrong Ford, prove me wrong!!!

iv added my 2.9 cents at the bottom of the article (comments) waiting for editor approval.

How can the media be so against ford? obviously being paid off under the table? luxary holidays? cars/boats/ prostitutes? or just hammering away to plot the downfall of a major aussie built car so as to the media's next big story?
so fed up with this media ford bashing and Holden bias.

Mine hasnt been approved yet...I didnt swear so just waiting....

I tell you what the journo's problem is...his a sheep and to scared to say anything that might go against the grain or popular belief..his riding the gravy train and its the easy way out.

His more interested in his retirement package then making a name for himself as a proper journalist.

As are my comments, very interested to see if they post it. Actually I don't mind if Gover rubbishes any product, I'd just like him to SAMPLE the bl**dy thing and print his opinion rather then discussing past failures of other brands that have no bearing on today's technology, advancements and the superior engineering talent of the people involved. This is a world-class powerplant using the latest tech, not some sneezy, gutless donk lobbed in with a half-arsed attempt like the Stafire black hole....

Mine's on there now too.

Paul Gover is showing his negativity, Me thinks PG is playing to and audience he thinks wants
to hear anti-Ford dribble but I don't even class him as a Holden fan as I've seen a lot of interest
from Team Red supporters who are very curious about Ecoboost Falcon.

I wonder if PG will get the hint. It could also be playing into Carguide hands by providing controversial exposure. Either way PG needs his "qualifications" questioned.

If it was Holden doing the same, the story would be quite the opposite and PG would be very excited about it. He is doing more harm to Australian car manufacture than probably anyone else. Yes, he should be given the flick from that job he has, as one comment suggested.

It's falsely misleading to most mum & dad's out there, and as soon as they read this, most will click out of the website without finding out the facts. Lets hope this correct figures are made before too much damage is done to people's already weak opinions of the EB falcon.

It's sloppy journalism.
Anyone can look up greenvehicleguide.com.au and check the search, the answer is clearly there for all three versions.

I can't believe I'm about to say this but Toby Hagon take a bow mate for being even handed:
Quote:

Even at 1500rpm the Falcon EcoBoost is pulling strongly with an effortlessness that makes for easy overtaking or slinking through traffic.

Peak power is also hearty, claimed at 179kW, again using premium unleaded; Ford says the peak outputs are down slightly when using regular unleaded.

It's not so much the power but that mid-rev flexibility that is the standout of the engine; it makes the traditional six-cylinder feel redundant.
This is why Paul Gover looks and sounds so out of step, even pro Holden press
are being more receptive to Ecoboost Falcon and what it stands for..

Question is, will most mum and dad's actually go to that green site or just go off the cars guides remarks and move on?

It overstates the fuel economy benefit of Ecoboost by misquoting the I-6 figure so not as bad as you'd think..

Trouble is it will get lost in the noise with the rest of the garbage Drive have been publishing today on the subject. Complete and utter rubbish some of it and based on nothing more but prejudice.
