"simmons " isnt ground off ,..the word "Sydney" is . dicky can say whatever he likes ,..a V5 centre that has not been cast at Arncliffe in Sydney aint worth buying ,...pick up an old school Simmons wheel & a chinese version ,..you will feel the difference ,..the very reason Simmons wheels became popular with the racers in the 80's was due to the lightweight of the rim |

Just changed the wheels on the coupe.
Bought a set of 15x8 & 15x7 "82 stamp globe bathurst last year and just had them restored. Rears 295/50/15 & fronts 225/60/15. |

Thanks for the compliments guys.
I was unsure of fitting the 295's as i had read that it was not recommended, but the fellow i use said no problems. I compared the tyres against the old one's which are 255/50/16 & same brand and they were the same width???? |

PinkBits,
Great coupe you have there & a Awesome combo (your probably sick of hearing this same comment). Top choice of PERIOD rims mate it looks great. It's funny how two diffrent size tyres from different manufactures can be almost the same width. Frank.

I've just ordered my rims from Summitracing.
It'll still be a while off until they're needed but thought I'd jump in while the dollar's going good. I went with the good old Convo Pro's 15x8 4.5" backspace for fronts 15x10 5" backspace for rears $1330 AUD delivered!! Thought that was pretty good. |

Considering my average cost of my Simmons was $860 a corner you did very well indeed!
Can't go wrong with your choice, they look very tough |

Hey mate, I paid just under 4000AUS all up for my billet wheels after freight, and taxes. For 18x8 + 19x10s from the states. Freight alone was 650US through UPS. but taxes and duty was more like 700AUS.

One know the definitive answer on what that biggest width tyre I can put on a 14 x 7" rim safely?
I've asked and read countless times from several sources and gotten several different answers. 14 x 7 and would prefer the sidewall not to distort/wear too quickly. Prefer to go where I steer the car.

Safely on a 7" rim I wouldn't be going any wider than a 235.
My guess that a 265 on a 7" rim would be illegal |

I think 245/50/14 might have a little too much sidewall movement. 235 is gonna look kinda skinny on a coupe LoL

yeah probably. but a 7" rim is going to look skinny on a coupe too. I am guessing it's for the front ? |

Will have to look at bigger rims and tyres down the track when funds allow. Unfortunately for now due to our reregistration processes I have to stick with 7" rims to get it legally back on the road. (Long involved story - really boring)
