"It's a what?" That would probably be the commonest one if they can't see it. If they can, they comment on the nice colour (Edge).
I've given up on carefully explaining what it is, and now simply answer "We drive a Fairmont G6E"...and people immediately know what you mean when you say "Fairmont". |

Everybody i knew, bumped into and talked to had this to say
"Its Nice" "Goes well" "Man this flys" "Quiet and comfortable" "The most reliable and economical Falcon ever" Only thing they dont like is the stock speakers which are blown, getting them done soon.

2001 AU 111 XR6 manual
Recently completed putting a set of Pacey 4480's, 100 cell cat and a Redback 2.5" zorst. 20 year old daughter giggles delightfully as I push hard through the first three gears down the highway. "Oh Dad I'm so glad you are leaving me the XR6 - when do you expect to die?" And today "Love the sound of your car would you accept $11,000?" No worries - come and see me when you have the money |

When I was filling up my wifes 38 Standard, some crusty old guy was commening on how smooth it idled, (I thinking he must have heard it before I shut it down) said it idles ok but has a slight miss under load, his reply was well it sounds fine now. what he was comenting on was the thermo fan that runs for a few minuets after it shuts down
the same old guy told me he lost his virgnity in the back of one of these, maybe its the same car. needless to say the wife and I havent made starfish in it yet

Had family friends come over with their kid when I got my G6ET. Kid said it was nice but Holdens were better. Then i took him for a drive. He came back saying he doesn't like Holdens anymore.
When I was saving to get my G6ET, my cousin would always say why do you want one of those, a SS is faster etc etc. When I got it I took him on a drive and planted it off the line. I then said to him "you know this is faster than a SS" and he said "I know now". |

taken a few friends for a spin and they've all said that they never liked fords, prefer holdens, but they like my car (combination of starter button, full leather and V8) my ex loved the starter button.. went crazy every time i let her push it to start the car had a guy comment that the blue interior lights were great. at first he thought it was a tint had a few comments saying the wheels look great (dark argents)

More a story. Never really had many people comment on the car. Apart from the Windscreen O'Brien guy asking me how the Turbo goes. Anyway...
I was driving into Canberra in my Territory Turbo Ghia one day, had a work colleague with me, we were heading to a party. We came up to a round-about, and next to me was an 80's Commodore. I think maybe a VL, not so good on my earlier Commodore's. Anyway, a young girl was driving, and a guy was in the passenger seat and a couple of young guys in the back, and they all started going 'Gun it man woo hoo' at me. Although I honestly wasn't even trying, I left them for dead - mind you, they were hardly moving and I heard from my passenger: "Does this happen all the time?" Me: "No, that's a first". I don't think he believed me. Due to a couple of red lights, they caught up to me a couple more times, and every time pretty much did what they did above... |

the only comments i get about my au are about the exhaust note, i`ve had complete strangers come up and say they like the note, they see the xr6 on the gaurd and ask if it`s an 8 or not , but it`s a standard vct with a home built exhaust.

"man thats nice. love the colour, itll look mean/tough/mint painted" also get "Awesome soundsystem dude, heard you coming for ages before i saw you" ive only had my exhaust on for about a week and have already gotten heaps of compliments on its note, and the look of the twin chrome tips

Pulled into a caltex servo the other day in the FG GT and as I was walking in a guy walking out said now why couldn't that have a Holden badge on it. I said it can just buy it and replaces the badges no one will ever know.

I was in the FG a few weeks ago, washed & shiny & looking good. I stopped to get a pizza and parked right outside the shop. The owner of the shop, a rich old italian whom I've known for years walked out and asked a few questions about the car, then finally how much it was, I told him, he says "wow that's not much for a BMW".

Mostly get told by family & friends that its a huge difference from the last vehicle, which is true since I had a 1993 Nissan Terrano that had a 5" lift in it and now have a BF XR6
