speaking of rubber, what brand would you recommend for the 16"s? I know he has Nankangs, a few of the guys on the forum have said they're no good, i'll be able to spend from the mid to high range...maybe... :(
Was it you that had that spill?... glad you're ok. My mate totalled his 05 civic doing a road he knew well. similar thing, just lost the back. he ended up wedged with the cabin between two trees over a 50m drop up in Mt. Dandenong.
Your little fez was a sweet ride btw. classy looks.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, should get the fez in around two days... my uncle is detailing it for me....sweet. cant wait. :

I'm not sure what the proper etiquette for posting is, but i was just curious about the exhaust systems done on the fiesta's... Is a 2" cat-back the go, and do i need a resonator on as well?
I'm thinking of getting stainless or chrome tips too... Definetely don't want a massive Milo tin at the back...
And lastly, anyone know a good exhaust place in Melb/Vic?
Sorry bout all the questions.
cheers.

Thanks guys.
Yeah, the Terri has a towbar for the trailer and when we have to hire a horse float for the daughter's latest horseriding passion. Also, both our Mum's are in their 80's and when we take them out for the day they can really stretch out in the leather armchairs in the back of the Terri, whilst daughter is in the third row with her DVD's and I-Pods.

I am blown away by the little Fez. It's meant for my daily commuting to and from work, but I can't wait to give it a bit of a work out on the twisty bits through the Dandenong Ranges near where we live. The chassis feels so surefooted and predictable and it's also great to have a manual box again. My previous manual was a KC Laser which I did 230,000 kilometres in. The Laser was sensational. It towed fully loaded camping trailers with ease and completed numerous interstate trips.

Although I've always been a Ford man, a hell of a lot of research went into the choice of the Fiesta. I looked at competitors from Toyota, GM, Suzuki, Mazda, Nissan, Volkswagen, Citroen and Hyundai. I drove most of them too. The Fez was a clear winner and I'm very happy with the choice. The 4 month wait for an airbag optioned Ghia from Germany only added to the anticipation.

I can't quite understand why the car isn't a bigger seller, but I'm guessing that many purchase decisions in the light car category in Australia are based on price. We are fortunate that Europeans drive smaller cars generally and the design reflects this. I'm just a fraction disappointed in the seats - no lateral support - and also that the accessory list for the UK version is not available in Australia. The car is being fitted with cruise control and bluetooth as I type this. I pick it up this arvo.

Thanks again for the welcome guys. I'm more than happy to provide my 'test notes' on the opposition vehicles to sway someone's decision towards a Fez.

HAHAH.. welcome mate. only ever seen Ghias on road.

Glad you like the Fez for all the points we love.. they are a great car and in my eyes best bang for buck. they are great cruisers and great little pocket rockets.

The Territory sounds like a great car to have if u have a big family! I quite like the look of the it.

True, in my opinion, the Fiesta is the best car to get in its class. I have no regret in getting one. I reckon not many Fiestas are sold in Australia is due to people's mentality of "oh, all small cars are the same anyway, why get one for $20,000 when u can get one for $15,000"... which is far from the truth.

You're welcome to post any "test review" you might have... it might help other people in making decision when getting a small car.

Welcome Gazzzaa, glad you are happy with the fez, great little car. The seats seem to get better once your butt wears into them! I have a new Fiesta and a new Focus (which seems to be a lemon). Much prefer driving the Fez,tis like driving a go-cart. I notice the ride is a little hash in mine with the 17" rims and I think my starter motor is on the way out already, but generally a well designed and well built car. Gets positive comments from everyone.
Ives, I agree , most people buying a small car go with the cheapest, without doing any research.

The Parrot bluetooth is very good. Now I have one less thing for the constabulary to stop me for. Will try out the cruise control on a trip up the Hume in a few weeks time. There is one 'disturbing' thing that happened today though....I filled Fez up for the first time and thought I'd give 98RON a go. Bearing in mind that the engine only has about 480 kms on the clock, the difference in power is really noticeable. I wonder what it will be like when it really loosens up? Looks like I will have to keep a more careful watch for speed cameras now !!!

I really think 98RON PULPs make the Fiesta run much better than the recommended 95RON.

Which brand did u fill up with?

Welcome to the club Gaz. I'll be bombing back down the Hume from Wagga on wednesday. Been using BP Ultimate on this trip & the economy has been the same as with 95. Maybe if I backed off a bit :
I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of your cruise control, if it's not too much trouble.

Ives...Caltex 98RON this time, but might try a 95RON soon and see if I can notice a difference.

Kiwijohn - I hope to get some pics this weekend if the weather holds up.

Actually, me and Dicko have one thing in common - we were both born in the UK, but's that where any similarity ends. I've been here since I was a little kid and don't have an accent.

Welcome to the forums, Gazzzaa. Nice looking car. I've always thought the Fez needed cruise control (especially when you do a lot of long-distance driving).

Do go for a fang on Mt Dandy Tourist Road if you have time (preferably when there are no bloody Sunday drivers about). Myself and a few others from the EuroFordClub have driven that road and I guarantee it'll put a smile on your face.

Bridgestone Adrenelin RE001's mate.

Or MICHELIN... or Conti-Sport Contact. anything else your wasting your time.

Though BF good rich have a good set and Toyo's T1R's are pretty good.

I have Conti-Sport Contacts personally.
