Go back 50 or so pages.

Anyone who posted anything from CNN was harangued as posting "FAKE NEWS" by the usual suspects.

Whilst the usual suspects demanded Fox News and Breitbart as bastions of truth.
Not to mention all the youtube junk that has been posted.

The irony!

Yes, how is Afghanistan working out for us?

We watched the Russian disaster there for years, then stuff it up even more!?

How is getting involved in more and more of the Middle East working out for us?

Much has changed but we learn nothing and make the same mistakes.

USS Carl Vinson just hit reverse and is heading towards the Korean Peninsula with it's support fleet.

Yes I was talking purely about capability over the last 40 years.

What happens after is the most interesting question and complicated but running through the Taliban or Iraq was no problem.

As an example the US has 19 operational aircraft carriers the Russians have 1.

No, I believe you cannot separate out cause and effect. We decide to take a particular punitive action because of our perceived superiority; we are responsible for the out come.

You are not that naive are you!?

"The real mortality of the atomic bombs that were dropped on Japan will never be known. The destruction and overwhelming chaos made orderly counting impossible. It is not unlikely that the estimates of killed and wounded in Hiroshima (150,000) and Nagasaki (75,000) are over conservative. "

No one doubts the USA ability to kill a truck load of people in the fog of war.

It is our greatest hope they have the intelligence not to do it....

What will never be known is the amount of Allied lives saved by dropping them!!!!!

Also you should look into the statistics of how many casualties Japan suffered from conventional bombings - it's not as one-side as you think, and that's factoring in the aftermath.

Up to 70 million may have been killed in Japanese cities including the "bombs".
Most Japanese cities were laying in waste before any nuclear bombs were dropped.

Back in the thread I was making the point that the US is the only military superpower ATM. It has the capability to fight multiple fronts and most likely win.

You can spin it anyway you want but it's still a fact. What comes after they use their power is unintended consequences that can be impossible or easy to predict.

A strong US is still better than having some of these dictatorships and autocracy's rise up and grow. Most only understand force. Better to fight them in their homelands than to wait and fight them in ours.

ISIS is getting a pounding from the Russians who will continue to pound them nothing has changed. The Syrian conflict is as it was with Syria a bankrupt failed state.

So it's turning into a war thread...

Has he dropped the Geneva conventions yet? Trump won't like those.

Gets worse by the day, I just hope when America falls they don't take us with them.

It should have at least gone to congress. I'm wondering how much weight Trump factored into flexing muscles in front of President Xi Jinping. If that was a consideration, it failed miserably.

The solution would be for Australia to massively increase defence spending so as not to be reliant on the US.

Would you agree with that?

Good read but honestly what else would you expect the Chinese to say? They are hardly going to side with the US over Russia. Just noise.

What is clear is that the US is till allowing Russian bombers to fly over Iraq to attack ISIS in Syria.

Lotsa noise about concern over NK last few days.

Huh? Chemical weapons were used both on the battlefield as well as exterminating German Jews (his own people) in concentration camps that Spicer called 'Holocaust Centers'. He gaffed and his clarifications just got worse when brought to task.

The man is a imbecile, but given that he's the spokesperson for an even bigger imbecile, it doesn't surprise me that he still has his job.

Concentration Camps and Death camps are completely different - I'll give you blokes that even if you didnt know it, but Can you give me some examples of chemicals being used on the battlefield in WW2 - I know of some instances, I just want to see where you're at where it comes to Hitler doing what Assaad did.

Trump. Is that the same imbecile 'that holds the record for drone-strikes' 'and boy does he love using drones', that guy?
