Who here on AFF took off at a reasonable pace from that intersection? Not necessarily ripping a skid or taking off at full throttle dangerously, but you left the intersection accellerating more than usual, and revving a bit higher than usual? Or you gave the engine a few revs before leaving to please those kids on the BMXs? I'm guessing most of you did. Hoons! Go impound yourselves! You're all scum!

Try revving your engine next to a cop car at the traffic lights eh. ;)

BTW CAT600, this post isn't aimed at you.

PS - any more skid pics?

Before making a comment like that you may want to check your facts first.

The majority of us exited via the other exit further up the road, no burnouts no speeding.

How about what I was alluding to though? Ie accellerating a bit harder than normal (2/3 throttle instead of normal 1/4 throttle...) and revving 1000-2000rpm higher than normal. Or did the majority who left from the other intersection hit 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear at 1500rpm?

What does 1500rpm have to do with anything, not even my mother would change gear at 1500rpm. Even if we had wanted to we couldn't have taken off quickly, there was way too much traffic and people were getting held up by the tools dropping burnouts.

Just accept the fact that we didn't act like tools. I had a fair idea that there would be someone there either taking regos to deal with offenders later or someone there taking photos of people dropping burnouts. I was right. Besides that as we all know anyone who drives like a tool at an AFF event will be banned.

That is enough of the talk about burnouts, no more of it and no pics of morons dropping patches.

Exactly! :evil3:

I gave mine a few stabs at the intersection to entertain those kids, after all when they're older they'll probably want to own Fords, enter the street/cruising scene, and it'll be cars such as ours from AFD 09 which would inspire them.

Not that my shtbox is inspirational in any way, other and inspiring people with what NOT to do :P

EDIT - for Russell's post that snuck in above mine... Agree to disagree, when in Rome, etc etc...

Something of a pity that we aren't in ancient Rome. It would be permissible to have you flogged in public which would actually allow you to become a useful example to others rather than the rather pitiful one that you made instead.

There are proper venues for using your vehicle in this manner but a public road with children around is hardly one of the preferred ones and this forum will not endorse your inane actions or those of your moronic mates.

If that doesn't meet your wish to become a legend in your own lunch box then you know where the exit is.

Russ

Have to agree with you on this i left via the main exit and didnt feel the need to give the little kids on the bikes a rev or anything and took off like i normally would from an intersection, so it just really comes down to being mature and not trying be a hero in your own world. There are places to do those sought of actions, not where there are kids and children standing on the side of the road, seriously take your rant somewhere else and leave this thread to posting pics and comments on them. Ghia5L you are just imature and obviously give in to pressure easily if those kids on the bikes made you give your car a rev just imature man and you should not have brung that onto these forums.

Keep the pics coming guys! There's a few cars I didn't get to see unfortunately, particularly from the entrance side, as by the time I got around there, a lot of them had left early.

Was a good day. Made me wish I had my sports coupe and falcon here instead of still sitting in perth.
What was with all the cars leaving early though? I got there around 12ish and there seemed to be a lot leaving.

I found this odd too. They stated that there was to be no movement between 10 - 3 yet I saw a heap of cars leaving well before then. Disappointing and frustrating as they kicked up a fair whack of dust.

I was surprised at the cars leaving early. It was a good day...but I was also disappointed when the organisers started taking down the flags/posts at 2pm. I think that gave people the green light to pull up stumps and head home.

I think it must have been disappointing for those who came down late too to have a look. Perhaps the organisers will enforce it next year...but I dont think anyone will take it seriously now. That is only my opinion of course All in all I thought the day was great

It disappoints me to see pics such as those in the Geelong paper.... can no one remember what happened with Troy Critchley.. You may have less than a quarter of the horsepower than he had in his car, but it all results the same way.

As for the cars leaving early, it seems to be a bit of a trend lately. Most seem to bail out around lunch time. It is disappointing as a spectator but as someone who has displayed at many car shows I can understand, it does tend to be a long drawn out day.

I think that there is two much worrying about this year. To be honest i thought that there was alot less then the last 3 times i have gone. I think that people need to leave all though views out of it and accept that if they are going to do it they are going to get caught. ( Look at the FACTS)

And when we talking about this happenign at events the fpv day has the same thing happen as everyone leaves .

The rest of us GAF if someone else does it because it ruins it for the rest of us when pictures like that make it on to the papers.

But back to AFD, it was really easy to get in this year, last year it took us atleast an hour and a half just to get told where our display was. the colour code system worked well i think.
