Yep doesnt look too bad and a way improvement over the HSV offerings at the moment!
I wouldnt mind knowing how many WOULD put there hand in their pocket if released to the tune of $100 + for a two door 370kw Holden compared to other offerings out there? Same goes for a FORD coupe. Of course would love to see one or own another V8 coupe but to pay a premium for 2 doors? So many homers out there wanting there bubble cars....... | [/url] |

They are making it really hard for people like me to sit around and flame holden.
has ford au ever made a concept car before? Their budget must be down to about $5 now. but if they did. ooh baby..... I imagine...... maybe......

The 6.00 pm news on channel 9 (Bris.) said it's a goer and will be priced at $120,000.
I think it looks horn and it's another feather in the cap of Holden marketing. There is another local manufacturer out there called Ford or something but unfortunately there's no evidence of it having an advertising or publicity department. |

I can't say I think much of it. The bootlid is too short, giving it a hatchback style look, and the front bumper looks terrible. Other than that it looks fine.

i cant remember the last time ford created anything to make people drool in this way(GTHO??). Ford went some of the way to listening to its fans when it created the the G6Et (fairmont ghia turbo to us old schoolers) but they continue with lack-lustre marketing and thats all this coupe60 is - clever marketing. the product really is nothing but a 2 door commo in a new frock.....but a very good looking one at that

Bah, this coupe 60 is ok but I think the best I've seen is the efijy. Much better style and had more Holden "DNA" than this coupe 60 thing.

I doubt if this car will go into production. I think that they built it for one purpose and that was to take the limelight away from Fords release of the new FG. Did the job well too.
It will be the same as the last attempt of releasing a 427 and that never eventuated either. That was just done so they could run 2 cars at the Bathurst 24hr race. I could think of a lot of cars that I would rather spend $120,000+ on, and would be quicker than that. |

Ok - just saw this in the "flesh" at MMS - it doesn't look as good as the pictures.
In an earlier post I said I like it (in the photo's) when seeing it, it just doesn't look right. - the wheels look too big - the seat placement looks wrong - the colour / build makes it look like its made of al-foil. I'm not good at describing these things but its just not right and some way to go for production. My 2 c. |

Looks pretty good, it's a good showcase for Holdens homegrown talents, but seems like Holden will be competing against itself if this goes on sale here, since they'll also be selling the Camaro pretty soon. I know which one I'll be driving! (hint, it's the Camaro)

The fact Holden are actually doing at least slightly more than just toying with the idea of a coupe/hatch version of the flagship car is something Ford has lost touch on.
IMO, the BA was the first Ford since XB/C that would have suited a coupe design, maybe an EL would have looked alright. Ford Aus are just nowhere near brave enough, or their hands are tied from offshore. |

It does look like a nice car. People talk numbers, people talk innovation. I thought this was Ford Forums. If you want something more than you have; great. Move next door.

Definately an awesome looking car. I love the race inspired interior. LCD Dash (motec anyone?) Single piece bare backed seats, low seating position (dare i say that seating position is purrrrfect!!!!) Red highlights also suit it well.
I would own that car in a flash. Thats actually a car you wouldnt need to mod in any way. Maybe some aftermarket euro style wheels. It actually reminds me of the dtm vectra and astra

"While $2.5 million had been spent on preparing the concept, new Holden chairman Mark Reuss said no business case had yet been prepared and there were no plans to produce it."
Seems like a bit of a been there done that - its just something else for ppl to **** off at for a few years. $2.5m aye - I wonder what Ford could have done with $2.5m and the FG as a base.... |

FG... it worked... I bet that was budgeted into the "Billion Dollars" too. That is, "lets keep some money aside for when Orion is released in a couple of years time, we'll spoil their paartay" Again, kudo's to them for playing the smart game. We'll see how smart it is in a couple of months time when all is but forgotten. |

I can't believe most of you guys think this thing is awesome, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! If all it takes to wow people is losing two doors, half the boot and the b pillars; and and adding a horrid bodykit, then maybe Ford should just do it, to invigorate their brand (?) Or maybe just maybe the company is looking for big sales (the Mondeo wagon should sell well for them) |

The change from AU to BA was quite sudden, instead of the AU getting a chance to morph into a BA and then an FG, we were given the BA (a rough sketch of what FG would look like, but with an AU cabin) The reason the FG XRs bumper looks *smiliar* to a BA GT is because that future styling 'trends' are previewed on sports and luxury models. Ever noticed the VE SS's front bumper is similar a VZ Clubby? Or that the VY Calais' nose is similar to the VX Monaro? Have a good look at all the new Fords with Kinetic design and you'll see the design teams are far from out of new ideas. |
