I'd take a white VY SS Ute, auto, blue leather, soft tonneau cover.

Fair enough I do know he is entitled to his opinion, but what relevance does that pic have with this thread apart from stirring ИИИИ? Not to mention that it is making fun of a situation where some unfortunate person probably lost their life...

Anyhow back on topic, my favourite Holden would have to be the WH-WL series Grange. The ultimate cruiser and sex on wheels. If only they came in manual!

It might not be a Holden but I'd have a Corvete ZO6 anyday, or any late model Vete actually, I love them.

Not bad - 97 posts, and only 3 or 4 mindless ones. I don't reckon the same thread for Fords would last 20 posts on a Holden site.

HQ Ute. The old man used to have one for the farm, kind of developed a soft spot for them.

Yeah mate, That would be interesting. That has 2 of us curious now. I do know they sold those walkies mentioed earlier as "Calais Pack" Group A's.

Ok I couldn't find the one with the road test, but I did find that the march 89 sm has an interview with (then) hsv boss john crennan. It was a long time since I have read any of these old mags so mabey the mind is playing tricks. Here is the part relating to this, "The vl group a could prove to be an expensive lesson. At the time of writing some 550 cars had been sold, leaving a further 200 to be shifted at a time when there's new sheetmetel in the showrooms. To help clear backlog some of the group A's are being stripped of their wild wings and sold with a vl calais nosecone and small sv88 rear spoiler".
The way it reads hsv,not the dealers, where reponsable for removing the kits. You must admit,it would be a big job for any dealer and would almost certainly require the cars to be completey repainted.

Not really because the lower body extensions were never put on the cars at the factory anyway. These were delivered in bubble wrap for the owners, or dealers to put on themselves (for shipping purposes). This would only leave the new grille and flip light covers to be added and the rear wing and c-pillar pieces to be taken off. Remember, there were only about 14 employees back then, so the job would've been bigger for HSV. Thanks for the info anyway, what month is the issue. I'd love to find a copy.

Yes I've been watching the debate in the f6ho thead, anyho as I said from the start,if I where to buy an aussie gm product, one of these "calais pack group a's" would do nicly.I'm not a fan of the big bodykit,I know it had a purpus at the track, but I've always thought them to be a bit over the top for a roadcar.Love the interior and motors though.

LOL Yeah, they are a bit out there aren't they. I never liked them at all years ago. I have this one because its HSV's first ever production vehicle. They kind of grow on you after a while.

Hmm... Any of the following would do nicely.

VL Calais Turbo
VX SS
VS Senator
VTII GTS 300

I wonder how long a "What is your favourite Ford?" thread would last on any of the local Commodore/Holden forums...

Ash, that reminds me, there was a limited edition Senator 300, I forget if it was a VX or what. That would be a neat package.
