yep great to have an open topic without it getting off track.
One thing though I'd like to say, how about for a change we applaud a government making a good decision, ofcourse it won't pan out perfectly but this helps greatly. High Media Focus is great value as well, heck it's a start. Comments like "Oh I forgot it's election year ?!" why always so synical how about just "thank goodness someone pulled their finger out regardless of the time.

Has been and will be for a while. They have arranged "marriages" like some other cultures and age will go out the window in some cases.

There was a news story on the local news here in the Alice tonight. It showed the police and officials arriving into a community near Ayres rock. They interviewed an old woman standing there in front of a trashed house. All she would say is "give us money, give is money"
This is one of the problems with the communities out here. They get too much for free.

For this whole thread, I've thought you lived in NT because the thread title is "How lucky are we?" which to me implied "how unlucky is MO". Then you said "aren't you glad you don't live in the territory" which made me think "geez, MO really hates this new rule". A victim of reading things that just weren't there I guess!
I did wonder about your "location" though :togo: |

I personally don't see why they should recieve any handouts whatsoever - it is only spent on grog and cigerettes. Get a job or live off the land. I support the JH plan (though am skeptical about the reasons behind...cough...election...cough), but Labour would only increase handouts, pat them on the back and tell em how great they are.
Oh and if you need to buy more than 1 bottle of alcohol a day, you have a problem.
