i can do basically anything if i give it ago only to the fact that i've been a fitter machinist for 20 years. and experiance is paramount however limited to mostly things i have done , and find that some things you just need the right equipment such as diagnostic electronic equipment etc, engine hoists and so on , always listen to others and ask a specialist when needed. as there is always someone with more experiance or training in a certain area than one. really shits me when i take my car to an expert and end up diagnosing and fixing it myself, or fixing up their stuff ups . but on the other hand . its a god send when your baffled and you find someone who knows exactly what the problem is as they have had a paticular problem 50 times before you walked in. so i guess i'd be a self confessed jack of all but definately master of none.

I can do most stuff (even the electronics) but I'll leave the machining to the professionals. I have the advantage that my dad taught me a lot of stuff when I was growing up and I even inherited all his tools when he died.

I do most things, but generally leave auto rebuilds and expensive engine/diff builds to the pro's, I have done basic engine rebuilds but when expensive stuff is going into it I get expensive people to do it.

I can do the basics like change the oil, check the brakes, check fluid levels and top up if needed, etc, but anything major I leave to my mechanic. He's a good bloke who really knows what he is doing. However I am also reading to learn more, hence why I am a member of this great site.

I use to fix cars for a living then I became and Aircraft engineer. Then I got sick of getting dirty and got into IT. My tools are getting dusty and rusty in the shed. :
