It's very sad.

My two kids will go to their primary school tomorrow & here about it, so I'll have to, again, explain about the goodies & badies and how we goodies are helping to teach the badies what they are doing is wrong.

Damn those radical ****ers.

With a lot of the systems probably being crammed up and blocked communications will take a little while to settle, and hopefully you will be able to get through soon.

It was always a question of when not if. They stated that 9 million people travel through there everyday. I mean to blow the top of a bus is pretty bad. Find them and string em up by the balls.

Just how wierd, true story a guy made his way into my daughters class this afternoon, claimed the children were his soldiers, attempted to shove the teacher out the room slaming the door on her arm, but the teacher who in my mind deserves a bravery award ( this guy was not on this planet ) would not take her arn from the door no matter how hard it was being slammed on her, and due to this other teachers were able to force the door open and regain access to the class, it took 5 coppers to hold him down.

who knows what if he got the door closed ?

I will be personally thanking the teacher tomorrow thats for sure.

Police have now confirmed at least 33 fatalities in the press conference, that's without the double decker bus figures. I'm watchin it on the telly kind of, it's 3:30PM here so they're all worried about how people are going to get home from the CBD as well, and also about getting the services running for tomorrow morning.

I wanna come home :o(

I dissagree. Things will continue to decline stedily as they are, and eventually we will end up in WWIII.

I don't think I'm necessarily a pesimist, I'm just realistic. I certainly hope it doesn't get to that, but I think it will.

Londoners are tough, they'll pull together and come through this stronger again, that’s what these terrorists will never understand. :jab:

London has been dealt worse hands than this before and pulled through :

Like the great man once said…

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender

Well still no news. If I hear nothing by this afternoon then he ( and not being cruel) would want to not contact as I am about ready to lecture him until his ears bleed about the decency of letting family memebers know where you when something like this happens. Family cant live with out them definately cannot live with them.

A lot of people here still believe we are safe and seperate from the rest of the western world as far as terrorist threat is concerned. Personally I think our chances of attack from terrorists has just escualted.

this will happen internally.
same as 9/11 was internal, we'll find later this London bombing will be by internals.

unfortunatly this ww3 people talk of is here. it may not be the appocalypse predicted 50 years ago, but it is now a war where one very ****ed of religous group has a problem with the western worlds attitude to greed.
it will be interesting to see how the stock exchanges around the world react to this. think about it. look at the price of fuel lately.
sadly, this war will never finish.

Mr Quan, terrorism IS WW3. It is already "terrorists" versus the world at large. Including Australia. The days of lining up and taking shots at an obvious enemy are gone. The events in the last few years and now in London are barbaric as Tony Blair has said. My thoughts go out for all involved, and most of all for the sick depraved people who must hurt so much to be driven to do such hateful things. I pity you most of all.

Disgusting, cowardly attacks. No more can be said really.

I have a friend who I have known since primary school over there at the moment, and his Mum may still be over there with him...so I have sent him an SMS and an email and am just hoping at the moment. There isn't anything else I can do really. I'm just praying nothing has happened. I think he works in central London, but I'm not sure.

One of my housemates is from England and has family over in London too so I have sent them an email trying to get a response.

Shocking.

Yeah, I just finished helping unloading the new spa last night, came back inside to see Pauline Pantsdown on This is Your Life, to see pictures of terrorism in London.

Could not believe it.

12 hours or so earlier, they were celebrating winning the Olympics for 2012. Now, despair and destruction. Unbelievable turn of events.

Its such a sad event, and really makes you thankful nothing serious has happened here yet.

But, I do believe its only a matter of time. Surely we're on the list??

UPDATE: 37 killed, 700 injured, 300 taken to hospital including 7 Aussies.

Surely they would have thought about that in there Emergency plans, London has been very ready for this I've heard and surely they would have known the underground could be targeted.

Isn't it truly awful? TG one of my Aussie friends who is trekking round the UK atm wrote to say she's ok

Our friend Jason (another expat Aussie) lives in London, haven't been able to contact him yet...

And my other netpal Rachel is uncontactable at this stage.

Talk about panicky! Geez, they are such d!ckheads these terrorists, the mind boggles.

I am quite surprised how the UK is taking this though, they're pretty calm considering. And the way the cops and emergency services handled it has been calm too, imho.

Well so far we (my mother and I) have sent emails to my brother in the hope that he might actually realise that we are worried, and contact us. He can be a bit selfish like that. I have decided that if he has made no effort to contact us by later today that I would ring the number again and leave what details I have with them. Mum seems to think that he might be on a different train line but then again who knows with my brother as he is odd in the things that he does.
