It was a tad unfair stazza, the stock GS doesn't quite look that good.

THOUGH, we're all entitled to our opinions as long as we don't shove it down others throats

For the record I'm not enamoured of VF and actually thought about getting one before i saw it. I'm not one eyed, and liked VE a lot.

The Guy a few doors up from me is a fair way up the food chain at our local Holden dealership and he drives the latest and greatest of the range and leaves them parked out the front of his house - IMHO the VF looks better in the flesh than in photos , he has a black SS at the moment and it looks good from the rear but not as good from the front , last week he had a white VF SS wagon and from the rear it's not distinguishable from a VE except for a badge with a flag - for a month prior to that he had a Colorado wagon in silver and it looks like it was designed by SsangYong , needless to say it looks hideous .

It's on airbags !

I prefer the rear over the front actually. Here's a pic with it sitting higher

That HSV looks ok actually, though not that low.
The last photo looks better.
Those wheels suit it well too.

That HSV doesn't look too bad, HSV front end is nice enough, and from that angle it hides the ugliness of the rear.

Toyota 86/mazda rear, BMW front.

In terms of exterior design, Holden have never been leaders, always been followers.

It looks okay from the side apart from that stupid vent. Doesnt suit the car at all. It's like they had a list of "cool" criteria to meet regardless of aesthetics:

DRL's - check
Euro BMW front - check
Asian inspired tail lights and headlights - check
Jaguar xfs side vent - check
Jaguar xfs bonnet w/slight bulge - check

anyone else care to contribute?

You mean subaru headlights

it's almost as though the VF was a cut and paste frankenstein job of other cars. That explains how none of the styling of the car is congruent with eachother.

Maybe they put a whole list of different cars in a hat and randomly pulled out car designs and said stick it all together with VE doors

I just can't get over the fact that the VF doesn't have indicators within the side mirrors in ANY spec. Their budget couldn't stretch that far? Screams cheap to me.

Having taken a close look at the range today, I'd have to say that the bulk of it has lost most of what made the VE a reasonably cohesive design. The rear end just looks too narrow and the 'sports' variants only emphasise that look, making them look far less tough than earlier versions.

They have lost the plain interior but the ergonomics and quality of trim is still way behind what even the Koreans can produce these days and they won't age well.

Overall, a step forward but not a big enough one.

Cheers
Russ

Every man and his dog has been raving about the tech and features in the VF, yet they have seemed to forget that it is a HOLDEN. As I've said before, Holden is not synonymous with quality. It can have all the cool features you want but do you really think it's gonna be quality stuff? 90 percent of cars I see broken down on the freeway are bombadores.

I remember going to the burnouts one night, and I know these cars are modded and all, but I reckon at least a good 80 percent of Holdens caught on fire or bit the dust, and not one single Ford blew up or caught fire. I'm talking 30 or 40 cars of each make.
