http://i696.photobucket.com/albums/v...u/SL370257.jpg Thanks Guys! Well I'm bloody stoked about her, the pics are OK, but in the flesh she's got a REAL presence! There's all the teething prob's with taking on someone elses pride and joy, She was basically sheded for over two years, taken out for rego and very occasional cruize (apparently). Engine leaks, gearbox leaks, diff leaks.. but not for long! Windows rattle when down? (Really annoying!) Any one know where the best rubbers are? I don't think she needs a full kit, just the windows for now, or maybe someone knows better? The Hotwires are 15x10 rear (275x75) 14x7 front (235x50) I had 245's on the front but when I replaced the control arms and idler arms etc and got a proper wheel allignment and new tyres, it rubbed a bit, so dropped a size. No rub. Not as tough, but no rub. The 14's up front give it a real tough stance I think, even MORE muscley! I think the coupe looks better with a bit of rubber around the rim. I think bigger rims on a non tubbed car just don't look quite right. But then again, I love look'n at photo's of tough coupes that can prove me wrong! Any photo's of tough coupes with big rims?

I love it. You don't happen to have any interior pics as well do you? Looks very much like I envisage mine when it's done, only with a shaker or Mr Gasket style scoop, the original chrome on the sills and around the arches and the GT style rear wing. Seeing these pics has me thinking about debadging the doors etc as well, not sure.
Cheers, Dave. |

Jeez she looks good...love the colour and sill skirt too- very 80's hotrod stance!
I would love to hear that running with the new exhaust system on the BB- must sound sensational!

Thanks MontyV8,
She had 245x14x50? on the front when I bought her, then did some front end work, and had some rub, got 235x14x50, no rub. Could I get 245x15x50 on a 15x7 and get no rub? I like the fatter 245 on the 7inch rim, but if I go up an inch in rim, will that rub? It will definately help (a little) with the big fat collectors scrapping all the time! Give a little more hight.. How much? Do you PM me for that or what? Thanks Mark

Thanks mickvxbs,
I thought so too! When I bought her, she had the wrong exhaust set up, so I drove her in to a shop down here (Sydney) that has been recommended to me. $5k later, she had custom made mandrel bent that sound pretty damn good if I do say so. I keep damaging the pipes 'cause she's too low (and I also think not low enough!). I'm seriously looking at air bagging her. I think it's the only solution. Does any one have any feedback on this idea? It will allow me to sit her real low when I want, and raise her up when I need to. I can't think of a better way to get what I need.. I'm looking at a system for around $5k. I'm happy to drop the coin if it solves my problem. I didn't pay for custom exhaust to trash them. I really like the look of coupes on their bums! Looking forward to ideas and experience in this area too!

Copyright belongs to the person who took the photo, this was the advertising shot of when I bought the car. He's actually a really nice guy who's selling them he's going to do some others with mine as it is now.

71val - yep - this is "show us" section. Jump back into Coupe Club section and you'll see 4 topic - see where your query fits into and post in that section. Oh, just incase some else say it, do a search first to see if someone else has already posted your topic.

Nah guys! Don't read into my note in that way - bit hard to interpret in written form... 71Val asked, he got the "forums" answer. That's why I noted the bit about doing a search before posting. I got smashed when I first joined and it really put my off the forums to be honest. I was just making sure he wouldn't get the same sort of posts that I got!
Anyway, back on topic! Coupes!! More coupes - pics of coupes, glorious coupes!!! |

What an amazing concept this forum thing ay! And at the tip of our fingers we are in touch with the world of coupes... from your chair! As I've said from the start with this forum, I see nothing but people helping people, it's good to see! My wife thinks I'm obssessed with the coupe AND the forum though! ......More COUPES!
