you should go for the adsl1 8000/436k plan or w/ever it is (i don't even know and i'm on it lol).. it is worth it, well especially if you get a half decent isp.

hahaha, typical telstra service ! Good luck ripping telstra a new one ! They dont have one to rip, they are one ! You could only succeed if they actually gave a flying f*#k what you think ! A few years back , I moved to a new place , set up my braodband connection, bought a new mobile , all thru telstra on their plans . My mobile kept breaking downm and my internet was slow. I complained many times ,Finally after 18 months of complaining , one day , my home phone line so crackly you couldnt hear waht the caller was saying they sent someone out after about a week to check it out ! Seems my line was stuffed and had been for some time! I asked the service tech if this would make my internet slow? Yes deffinately was his reply ! Do you know what telstra did . Nothing . not a credit for lack of service or poor performance . All I wanted was what I paid for and they treid to treat me like it was all my fault ! well they can go *#@! em selves now cause I use another SP and mobile company . Even my employer has my work phone on a different net work cause I wont give give telstra $#!* .

Sorry for the rant , but telstra are just a buch of theives and bastards !

Optus Cable in Brisbane - The tests below are my nerdy self testing things with all servers.... just proves these tests are only as good as the pipe connecting your ISP to the host of the test..... But in the real world, this is more than adequately fast enough. FYI, its going through a Netgear Rangemax Wireless Router.

Mine is so slow I tried all last night to get it to work, and it didn't.

It might work if I hooked up my other computer and tried it, which would lead me to believe it might just be this computer, but I've had it rebuilt twice this year, and it's still worse than dial up.

I had to d/l a 63MB game patch the other day, and it took nearly 24 hours.
