At least Ford are advertising the XR8 utes in the dirt bike magazines, with the amusing caption of; Use very, very, very heavy duty tie downs

Also if you go to the hot deals section and clich on any state it comes up with a new window saying “ watch this space from Monday April 2, 2007. In the meantime, visit your local Ford dealer today.” Well ford its now Tuesday and I still don’t want to go to a dealer! |

Having a look at it ... the Magnet is better value indeed.
I was sure the Magnet came with the Leather seats and Premium sound dual climate zones ... this doesn't.

Just received my first rip curl XR6 today and i think it is pretty good value for moey for the extras you receive. The utes look so much better when the 18" rims are optioned on IMO. Rip Curl badges will be a good little pick up for they badge theif that tend to go for this sort of thing.

I think it makes good marketing sense to badge a recreational vehicle with a flavour of the month designer label, although it will have some repercussions down the track.
As mentioned before, we have already had the SportsGirl and Reebok image cars so imagine how funny it would look if we had "Air Jordon" XF utes or "Calvin Kline" Statesman in the past! Actually I think this type of marketing could be a generation too late. This type of marketing would have been very popular during the Sandman Sundowner and Drifter years. |

If I bought one, first thing I would do, would be to rip the badges off. Reminds me of the super cab stickers they used to put on AU utes, cheap and nasty. The colour looks quite good on the ute in the ad!!

The interior is the same as a STandard one plus Momo wheel, 6 stacker and the tacky water proof seat covers.

Had a good look at one today and I like them, the badge is a proper badge not vinyl, and it looks good. Not tacky at all.
The interior actually surprised me, the seats and doortrims are made out of different material to the normal ones. The car was locked so I couldnt actually have a sit in the seats, but they're covered in that waterproof material sorta stuff. MOMO wheel looks great too. Would I have one? Definitely.

mmm...its not a bad offer and i love the colour but imo the momo wheel is just wrong, talk about cheap and tacky. I also searched on the Ford site for a few minutes for a link but couldn't find anything.

Nice colour suits the ute well. I guess they do this to get other people who are not cars nuts to buy a Ford.

The Rip Curl ute at our local dealership is an XR6 Turbo :
Can you get any ute you like with the package?
