Take out PWD, and half of Carpathian, add in some bands like proteam and you have a start ;)

The problem with commercial radio stations is that when a good song comes around (and for the oldies who are reminiscing ;)...I am not talking about songs that will be classic, just good songs to listen to) they are overplayed, overplayed and did I mention overplayed?

Plenty of the current offerings are crap, but the good ones that sneak through make the music directors go so over-the-top that they rotate them 5+ times a day, killing the bloody song.

I really enjoyed The Fray's "Over my head", I thought it was a great song, but after hearing to it 300 times in the space of a day it gets a bit much! There are countless other songs that end up just like it because the quality of the other songs around is so bad they have to play the popular stuff because it is a bit better!

The only stuff I find myself listening to at the moment are CDs that I can put on when I want to listen to songs I like. Radio is a mix of the good (but overplayed), mediocre and just plain terrible these days. Don't get me started on 80s music though. I put up with enough of that when growing up that I would rather not turn MMM on to hear the occasional decent song (read: Cold Chisel/Barnsey), yet hear too much mediocre old crap.

My brother is a music director at a radio station...at least he sees my point. Too bad he is in Sydney.
