Whoops so it was. Then again I doubt the 6 second doorslammer is a six.

Adrian Vella is the man, though Kyle Hopf came so close to running a 10!

Your not wrong. I've seen then up close and although they have tread I wouldnt use them on the road. I'd call them semi-comps honestly. 13.3 is an awesome time but on std dunlops I'd say it would lose a few 10ths.

i spose the biggest problem would be, if they put standard size road tyres on, they'd have to change the diff gears.

Well actually, any tyre which is D.O.T Approved, is a road tyre. Just cause they have a different compound and construction, dosen't make them any less a road tyre.

The new M/T Drag Radials are classified as road tyres, but they are more of a drag tyre than the Sportsman Pro will ever be.

Well although the tyres are DOT approved you should also look at what would be legal on the road to really have a DOT approved tyre. Although the tyre may have plenty of tread, the tyres would not be legal on an EB by any stretch of the imagination.

Hang-on, we are not discussing whether or not they are LEGAL width for an EB, we are questioning whether or not they are road tyres.

Technically, they are most certainly a DOT approved road tyre. The EB time has to be classified as a road tyre time...they are not slicks or dedicated competition tyres.
Would I put them on my car (even if it was legal) and go cruising? Not a chance.

The in fighting about tyres doesn't mean much in context to the thread does it? DOT approved or rubber bands 13.3 N/A is flying but still nearly 2 seconds slower than geeas turbo..
