What a race. Real heart in the mouth stuff at the end.
Should have been a FPR 1-2! Go Ford...

Lowndes is still one of my favourite drivers of all time no matter who he drives for. He is a true legend in Australian Motorsport.
I cant believe Foxtel is only replaying 4hours of the race on Tuesday night! Seems the nascar is more important. Seriously, there is nothing ever good on anyway!

I remember years ago Murphy was given a drive through for hitting someone from behind (Lowndes ?) when it was obvious it wasn't his fault. If someone slows up and the car behind whacks it surely the stewards would be able to access data to show this. I am pretty sure the car speed at every point on the track is very similar for every car out there, do they check this before handing out penalties ?

I'd like to know how Whingecup knew the red lights were off before anyone else.
Great race, I missed the end due to another commitment. Bathurst of all the tracks in Oz shouldn't fall apart on race day. Very disappointing.

AMAZING race!!
The last few laps....OMG!!! My wife was glaring at me (Holden fan even though she doesn't know anything about cars), and my son was looking at me like "WTF are you doing dad?" (if he could talk he probably would have said it) I was shaking when it was over. Now I can't wait for this Friday even more! Got chosen by Ford for the FGX XR8 launch filming at Avalon...gonna be epic after this!

Was a great win, must say chaz drove the wheels off that car.
I've always liked lowndes but the bump and move has always been his style of passing, this time he just bumped to hard, I still believe he intentionally gave frosty a hit but I don't think he intended on spinning him.

What a day, even the non motorsport fans were cheering at the action. For what looked to be a damp squib with the road rebuild, safety car after safety car and a Volvo looking like it could win,, how action packed were the closing 30mins? The way things played out were blowing my mind. There was a moment with 30 laps to go in which 3 of the top 6 had all stacked it and were back on the lead lap contending for the win. I was pretty drained by the end of it constantly rethinking the effective leaders. I had Chaz as my sweepstake and had to go hunting for my ticket after throwing it away when Morris stacked it. After all that action and Frosty had a really consistent day without incident. He should have been 3-4laps ahead if it were not for the safety cars, you couldn't script it that the last few laps he is battling with guys that have been black flagged, stacked it and been pulled out of the kitty litter. Got to feel bad for SVG after alls said and done, although there was a big cheer from the Ford fans as he stalled.

Excellent race well done Chaz only need to lead for 1 lap but you have to get the right 1. Edge of your seat racing for the last 15 or so laps could have gone either way but in the end the best man won it!!!

It seems they were hard pressed to find someone a similiar size to fit into the car (and its likely Morris brought some cash to the table for the drive)

Lowndes is a different person when he is under pressure, any other time he would be one of the cleanest driver’s in the field and he actually uses his head but when the pressure is on he turn’s into a man on a mission which is ok along as you drive within your means and cleanly but most of the time he does not, he tends to make some silly mistakes which in turns either punishes other’s or himself.

However, you might say that Whincup and Roland Dane's karma ran out of fuel... Great race, Lowndes wants his eyes checked, for all the sympathy the Ch7 commentary team gave him, Lowndes didn't come down in the last shower, he knows how to race and that was amateur hour driving of the highest order. I like to think it was on purpose for the laugh it gets, in the same way a footballer commits a professional foul to break up a run of play and wears a yellow card for his troubles. Nonetheless, it made for riveting racing. The young fellas on the podium were all good value - and Morris looked hilarious up there. Chaz and Taz are good kids. |

Some guys are very quick and very clever. I bet triple 8 racing wish they had blokes that were that clever. Clever enough to put just a litre or 2 of more fuel in and Clever enough to Listen to ya team orders. I'd say there will be a few Holden blokes getting these sent to them as picture messages through out the day. All I can say is 'Stick it right Up Em' GO CHAZ GO FORD Last edited by hootar; 13-10-2014 at 10:25 AM. |

had the race on in the background (first time watching it since 2006).
Good race, very happy Ford won it and in the circumstances they did. I was really hoping for a Volvo win though, it was looking good until the wall.
