Wife backed into it one Saturday, daughter got quote on Mon, $1200 to fix.

Had it booked into panel beater the following Mon but my wife backed into it AGAIN on the Sat prior (identical circumstances to the first time).

Amended quote on the Monday, $2600!

#2 has escaped oz drivers by moving to the UK for a couple of years, lol.

Bastards, specialist insurer my.......... :
I had to get a police report for Just Car when I was insured with them. Had a taxi reverse into me. He denied doing it, said I smashed into the rear of him. Luckily I had a witness though because it ended up going to court & he lost. But anyway, Just Car said that although I had the taxi drivers details, I still had to make the police report so that the excess would be waived. Did the report and all was fine. Reported it that same day, took about 15 minutes to do so it was no drama really, paid no excess & got the car fixed.

The damn woman is now claiming it was my fault, apparently I rolled backwards up a hill with the car in drive. Ummmmm NO! : :

She is also claiming that the address I found for her isn't hers and that she is just "staying there for a few days". Again Ummmmmm NO! If only she know how I tracked her address down :evil3:

It's funny how women like to deny being at fault... Was in my parent kia sorento, and going straight through a 2 lane roundabout on the outa lane, the woman didnt give way and slammed into my rear left wheel, we pulled over and she tried to say i didnt give way!?? how did i not give way when it was her that slammed into the rear of me... wasnt much damage just a few panels dented and a scratched up wheel, left her entire front end mangled, i was amazed at the damage she took, lol guess those magna's arent so tough.

I'm not too sure if this is a plain lack of common sense and logic or she is just a outright liar.. It is actually making my blood boil !!!

Is the insurance taking care of this or have you spoken to her ?

Wait for the "I saw his reverse lights come on and he ran into me" line to sprout from her pie hole when she realises Earth has this pretty spectacular phenomenon that people commonly refer to as "Gravity"

Shannons is taking care of it, their investigations team is a lot more helpful than their claims team.

that happenned to my bosses wife.... another woman hit her yada yada then did the turnaround and said it was her fault..... Funny thing is she even tried the husbands a cop routine.... even funnier thing is bosses misses is a cop, a detective even and stuffed that story right up and she got it all on record as she was at work when she called her..... Thats priceless.....

the woman who hit the bosses wifes car thought she was kidding at the time when she said she was a copper...... and tried to bluff her way out of it....

whatever happened to honesty???? must of went to the same place as common sense

I hate it when people cant admit fault! She was in the wrong.. cop it on the chin and move the f on i say!

Very sorry to hear Russel.. I know what its like having your pride and joy damaged. I have had 2 cars get major damage. One wasnt driven by me and the other was a hit and run writting the car off..

Everything will fold out the way it should i hope mate. Just keep onto shannons. Even take a shannons rep to the scene of the accident so they can see what, where, how etc.

The assessor had a look at it today and approved the work to go ahead, so there will be a new rear bar and a genuine new rear skirt going on. It'll look better than ever :

Shannons is giving me grief though. I have provided them with a name, rego, phone number and address as I said earlier. They are claiming I have to pay the excess until they can verify the details as I didn't get her address at the scene. They had a long rant about the contract and what the policy states, didn't have too many answers for me though when I asked where in the contract or policy it states the means details must be obtained. Oops, it doesn't and they are still saying I have to pay the excess until they verify. Sounds like a bit of a breach of contract if you ask me but we will let the Insurance ombudsman decide on that matter I think.

It's all worth it in the end just for that new rear skirt.

Just make sure it is a new/genuine rear skirt, this might sound a bit extreme but spill some petrol or something alike on it and see if the paint rub's of, the reason for saying this is I had a accident and the rear bar had to be replaced on one of my vehicles and they used a 2nd hand repainted bar and it was only that I spilt some petrol on it when fueling up and noticed the paint comming of, and found out latter what they had done, but by then it was to late and the job was completed, some of them these day's use reapired/2nd rate skirt's from another vehicle.

I know it's going to be genuine, I lined it up
