: As for 'The Aussie Stig' not having an affiliation....I don't think that matters....but please with the last name tander I'd rather not. Personally I'm still holding out for John Bowe or Jim Richards, to get the job. These guys can, and do, drive anything on four wheels and know what they're doing.....and since they are both retired from full time racing there should be no commitment clashes. Hell, they could even alternate every couple of weeks.

I don't think they will take on any big names (Denyer, ridge, Newman, etc.) This is the SBS.

They should get Neil Crompton to host it. But i think channel 7 might have something to say about that.

but im with you.. as long as its better than that show then it shuld all be alright. but i hope they do jeremy and the team to come here and do a few shows to kick it off and get some interest in it. That way they could at least test the F6 and what not.

if the three from top gear came here and drove our aussie cars, theyd do nothing but bag them, they drive the best cars from all over the world, clarkson also drove the fastest car in the world, the quad turbo bugatti, he was even considiring buying it on the show as he was enquiring how much it was going to cost to insure as he was driving it!! Our cars maybe be good in domestic terms, but compared to limited edition million dollar prestige super cars they wouldnt fair.

Sounds like they are looking for people with a racing/rallying/driving background at least rather than just a celebrity.. Could well turn out half decent.

Yeah, I loved their trek across America, after being given $1,000 to buy a car.

I hope that this Australian TG will make the REAL one make some sort of special episode to at least acknowledge that more than one Australian car exists. Perhaps TG could feature exerpts from the Australian show time to time - hopefully SBS is persuasive.

At least Russel Crowe has a good narrators voice. Albys is just pure droning.
But seriously back to the topic... I think Rolf Harris should be on it
