Hey! Quick question whilst we're on the topic of Nulon -- Generally, what Nulon Engine Oil would be best to go into an Inline 6 (AU Ford), AU Gearbox and AU Diff. I'm looking for something that would give the best performance and would be suited to keep temperatures and noise down. Thanks kindly.

My experience has been that I used new nulon oil and went to the drags for the first time when I ran 15.1 1/4 mile. Result was that as I drove home my engine was rattly as all hell and when I drained the sump lots of metal came out. It actually sounded like it was going to blow up and yes it was new oil.Get Penrite oil

Looks like anyone who has had bad experiences with Nulon has gone with a competitor. I have used Nulon Hi Tech fast flowing since it was released with my supercharged falcon. Havent had any issues to date.

We can rave on about what is the best brand all day, but in the end if you are doing regular oil changes (5000km), and as already said as long as the oil meets API rating and you have correct viscosity, you can get away with any brand. For longer intervals (up to 10,000km between oil changes), I always choose a full synthetic for a bit of extra protection.

I only choose Nulon out of habit, and because its Australian made.

Blueoval you are a top bloke but my fingers are crossed for you. I also used Valvoline..magnatec and ended up with similar issues at the drags . With the penzoil and penrite the car comes home nice n quiet
Perhaps the stock oils dont like 6500 rpm burnouts? Maybe lol

hahaha. Thanks Stav. I can see where you are coming from. Your car probably needs top protection based on the treatment you give it. You have seen and used plenty of oil brands to compare with and it looks like some are winners and some are losers. I can see why you make the statement about Nulon.

For what I use my car for. It barely hits redline before I change gear. I drive it daily and have never takin it to the drags. Nor do I pull intentional burnouts. Thats not to say my engine doesnt deserve the best oil. More that I havent personally had bad issues with Nulon so I dont see it as a big deal to use it for the application I use my car for. If I blow my engine, I blow my engine, I'll just stick another one in it and use a different brand of oil.

I am a big fan of nulon. Use it in all my cars and recommend it to customers at work. I just put some 15-50 full synth in my KA laser S pac and it is like driving a completely different car. The car idles smoothly and revs a heap quicker. They have just bought out some budget option mineral oils which are higher rated than their direct competition (Castrol GTX etc) and cost less. Love the aussie made oil for aussie conditions.

Castrol sythetic in mine after service last week, seems ok, very smooth running, engine valve train had light ticking when idling last week, its gone now.
