im pleased to say i got my engine on tuesday. its a 2L pinto from a 1973 cortina. ive already started to take it apart. having heaps of trouble though with three of the spline bolts that screw into the head, they wont budge.

ok bolts are out and engine is totally dismantled. i finally got those fu%$#n bolts out! just required a small sledgehammer and iron rod and some heavy belting :evil3: . even though i was hoping for everything to be perfect on the engine, i didnt expect it. once i got the head off cylinder 2 had all built up, looked like mud. only explanation is if there was some water jacket leak somehow (i couldnt see any cracks though). ill try to post up some pics of it in its current state.
