Nah, a completely different car just from the same (holden) assembly line but with toyota employees putting the same parts in the same places.

I think alot of the similarities that people are drawing come from the styling periods of the time - not copies or ripoffs, just period styling. An example would be the EK Holden and the '57 Chev.

I recall reading an article in the 70's about the then new Rover SD1. Part of the design brief was for it to look like a 4 door Ferrari Daytona.
