I appreciate "Big Bud" tractors, I believe there used to be 2 owned by a share cropper over in Kellerberrin about 30+ years ago, If i remember correctly they where around 650hp each....

The biggest Big Bud though was the Big Bud 16V-747 which only one was ever made, originally 760hp it's now set at 1100hp...

Big Bud chiselling a 3000 acre 'field', decent size top paddock lol.....

Laid out 6 coppers in the old Elizabeth hotel in the 70's before they could control him and took him out stark naked.
I was sceptical of this too until i met one of them 20yrs later who asked my surname, said it was unusual and asked if any relation, i said yes and he closed his note book and walked away.

That's a "father" by name only, very sad story, but seems like you got over it ok?

A Diesel with a carburettor? Yes, this is one of the cleverest design engines ever made in my opinion. International 3 valve engine, start by hand crank on petrol, then switch over to diesel. No battery required, magneto ignition.

Great information on the crawler petrol starting system.
Reminds me of this 3cyl Kelvin Diesel I took pictures of in the Auckland Maritime Museum.
Hard to get your head around.

There's a place I used to visit North of Perth had a crawler dozer with petrol/diesel engine, it was smaller than the kelvin in pics.
They asked me to look at it, see if I could start it, they had and still have sheds full of old gear going back over 100 years.

When I was prospecting I would come across old cars and trucks all over the place, but the property owners know their value!

I'd like to know why it's got an an axle shaft extension on the back rear left wheel!.....
Maybe to run a pulley for a belt?...

REAR WHEEL TRACK ADJUSTMENTYour tractor may be fitted with a fixed flange type orbar type rear axle. With a fixed flange type axle rearwheel track adjustment is effected by changing thewheel rim relative to the centre disc, the rim and/orthe disc relative to the axle hub or by inter--changingthe rear wheels.


With bar axles, the same method of adjustmentapplies but with the added advantage of being ableto move the wheel hub on the axle shaft. Thisprovides an infinite range of adjustment between thenarrowest and widest settings.

Not sure but I think the band of Woodcutters from NSW north coast did it. They often display and demonstrate their skills at various truck, machinery shows.

Either that or someone had a lot of time on their hands.



Not remotely related to tractors. This was at the same show for CB.

Gray Fergie with a Fergie Post Holer Borer attached, simple effective like all they stuff the made, had one one the Farm.
