Gday all, I have been lurking on the outside and thought I would join to get the inside info. I have a 2010 FG XR6T ute which has just come out of warranty so I put a K&N filter on it as well as a cat back exhaust. I put Penrite HPR5 5W 40 in the sump and 95 in the tank (cant get 98 on route) and the fuel on my last trip to work (700klms) dropped to 7.8L / 100k. Cant believe the difference from stock (9.6L / 100k) and I don't nurse her along I cruise at 118k and punch it quite regularly to get past the triple road trains. I notice a lot of posts on fuel but none this low, have I got a freak?

Hey, been thinking about joining in for a while as I have seen some great feedback on projects and everyday questions, so here I am.

My Name is Brendan and I have always had a passion for XA-XC Coupes since owning a genuine red pepper XA GT Coupe when I was 19. Last year I purchased a XB GS Falcon 500, 302 Auto that was pretty straight and with the help of mates and my brother I am in the process of restoring "The Beast". I am sure I will be seeking a little advice / recommendation as we work through the rebuild.

I am also lucky enough to have the new as well as the Classic car. I have a Nitro Blue Supercharged FG GT that has been "improved" with new springs, shocks, air intake, flash tune....It runs just over 500rwhp, the modern day Beast but just not the same as the XB.

Look forward to interacting and adding to conversations

Cheers

Brendan

NO i do not think you have a freak? what i think is you have increased flow in/out and i used to regularly get those figures, from a BA Fairmont, no turbo to help things along. What kind of milage do you get from a full tank of 95? I use 98 and have done 700ks on one tank, was sucking fumes though, when pulled into servo.Should fill up with 98 before you leave and throw in a couple of jerrycans with 98 and see if there is any improvement, should be able to do 700ks with back up cans? Let us know how you go. Regards Reklaw007.

Hughenden is the last fuel stop before the prices go up to $1.90 / L as you go west so I have done Hughenden to Cloncurry and back to Hughenden which is just over 800k on the one tank of 95, getting a bit toey for the last few k's though, I doubt that it would have made it much further. I will try the 98 next lap and let you know. Cheers

Good choice, you will love the T, I am impressed with the power these things have when you need it but they are also economical when not driven hard.

Greetings my name is Johno and I have recently purchased an AU 2002 XR6 Series 3. Got over 200k on the clock but runs and feels like new - very good condition inside and out. Did my time as a GM mechanic so am a recent convert and just love the XR6 - Goes real well and handling and ride are great. CD stacker is not working and was wondering if I can buy aux cable and plug it into aux port (if AU's have such a thing) to run an ipod or the like (I know BA's have this facility with aux port around the fuse box area). Does anyone know if I can do a similar thing with the Series 3 AU? Cheers, Johno.

G'day aussie Ford owners.

Just bought my first ever Ford, a 2002 F250 XLT 4x4.
Needed something with the grunt to haul my caravan.

I hate having to import parts and accessories for my
truck from the USA so I am always keen to hear about
Australian suppliers of Ford parts.

G'day
I've been hovering around on & off for a while and figured I should man up & post.
Bit of a rundown I am over in Perth and own a XT Fairmont that was left to be my brother who passed away. I've done a few things over the past nine or so years but yet to fire her up. hopefully get to it and have her mobile in the coming months. Stoked at how much help and info you can get off here cos I bloody need all the help I can get haha.

Hi all,

Although ive owned many various makes over my driving life Ive always been a Ford man at heart. First car owned and modified = XD Falcon (Nothin fancy but its what i learned to fix cars on, I'll post up some pics when I can find them) Came across this forum after my BA with 180k on the clock developed a miss under acceleration. I was in Townsville. 1600 km from home. Uh oh. Googled the symptoms and info from this forum popped straight up suggesting it was the coils. Had them tested and found 2 were cactus. Only swapped for 2nd handies to get me home and i reckon the others arent far behind. The plugs were veeeery tired too they got changed out too. So a big thanks to all the contributors as you really did save my bacon and $$. Complete brand new set of coils will go in this weekend.

Have I posted correctly? sorry for any inconvenience;

Thanks for this usefull forum, I have a 2004/2005 Ford Territory Ghia and trying to gather information on how to install a new Kenwood stereo (single din) below the ICC; my research so far points to too many variations for making the proper wiring connections; Can I connect directly to the central Audio plugs on the back of the ICC factory audio? and do I need to be carefull of any specific requirements for these cars; thanks in advance.

Hello everyone, new to the forum and first post. Should have joined earlier as I've already found some useful information. Anyway, been playing around with fords for many years and my current toy is a 2001 Mustang GT convertible (for sale by the way), beautiful car. My next project is a Mk1 or 2 (preferably 1) escort panel van to take a high horsepower 2 litre I've had sitting around for years, I use a wheelchair and therefore need an automatic so i'm currently investigating the best option..........any suggestions would be appreciated :-)
cheers

Hello everyone. I'm currently doing
Up an xc ute. 351, c4. Was owned
From new by my best mates father,
So some sentimental value there.
I'm not much of a computer person
And only have access by iPhone.
Looking forward to checking out
Others projects.
