2 new gantry cranes arrived on Saturday morning 17-6-06. The vessel they arrived on immediately began submerging to allow them to be offloaded. Shots were taken with my mobile, sorry, didn't have the camera with me. Also couldn't take earlier ones as I was working.

I have photo's but not digital so unable to put up. It's amazing to watch them load and discharge this sort of cargo.

You would not let the idiots at Patricks that load the frieght for down here look after an unload like that.
They seem Smash every pallet they load, I would bet they would sink the boat if they did a job like that |

Another sign of the times!.. These were once made locally by Deer Park Engineering who were the world leaders in container gantries. Now copy-cat Asians have the market! The government should be hung & dried for not giving incentives to use our own talent. :

Great pics Redfin, just for the sake of an Ade-lad, where was this? The Port of Melbourne? Here at Adelaide's port I had to take some photos for a publication and got to ride up the top of a gantry, guy asked me if I had problem with heights, I said no, but when we eventually got up there It was high! Plus the whole thing vibrates and sways whilst operating. Quite awesome!
