Default Uk short shifter onto 2004 aussie wp fiesta

Has anyone purchased a short shifter from the uk and fitted it to the front of their gearbox on the pivot where the shifter cables clip to?
Trying to find out if they are the same gearboxes, the uk seller cant confirm.
It basically fits onto the pivot point where the cable fixes to and changes the pivot point.
Uk youtube videos look identical gearbox wise and im about 85% sure but confirmation would be good.
cheers
