Morally she should but Govco authorities will not force her to do so, also civil law case will be useless.
Just proves how many conniving women at there who has done this as this is not the first time..

The only 'good' thing here is that the kid lived and died knowing he had a loving dad.

...pretty sure the dad would also feel this way.

Nothing will result of this except a media and internet pile-on...

She should be made to pay it back and also charged with gaining money under false pretences.
Something has to be done to try to stop these women in their tracks.

I wouldnt want the money back, kjust knowing that I'd contributed to raising the boy would be reward enough regardless of Paternity.
She should be charged with fraud though, if she's sleeping with enough men to not know who's Fathered her child thdn it should be on her to clarify that to avoid this.

I disagree with the last paragraph, that he wouldnt be successful in court. I recall a previous similar case, where the not-father was not awarded compensation, but largely because the kids were still kids and the financial impost on the mother would affect the kids.

In this case, the kid is not only grown, but isnt even in the picture. No reason he cant be award compensation, frankly who cares what effect that has on her. Of course, he has to be able to prove that she knowingly deceived him, she could just say she only started to have doubts about the paternity when the kid was grown, if at all.

All the more reason for paternity testing to be a prerequisite for the dad being named on the birth certificate. People just cant be trusted.

Chairman's Award: Chairman's Award - Issue reason: Your outstanding contributions to this community have not gone unnoticed. IN my view you are a worthy recipient of the (rarely used) Chairman's Award.

The deceased had a half-brother, where paternity (the previously cuckolded father) is not in dispute. Why would anyone pursue a process that furthers animosity between the parents of this child - it’s a messy one, for sure.

Hi Guy's
I wouldnt hold my breath on trying to get the money back from that women. Apart from taking her to court over this matter.

She should be charged after it was proved that the gentleman was not the real father and he was still paying for what he believed was his son.

She should be charged with fraud.

Pretty good world we live in where a parent can forced to pay unpaid child support, yet isn’t entitled to money back if the child isn’t theirs.

In cases of child support, how is a DNA test not standard practice? It’s not an invasive thing on the child at all.

Feminists have campaigned against paternity fraud law reform with the simple phrase "best interests of the child". The governments sweep it under the rug because ultimately they don't want to have to support the child either. As long as some mug is on the hook, they don't care as evidenced by hounding the man when he owes child support and abandoning him completely when he is owed the money as a result of a DNA test showing he isn't the father. He's faced with expensive legal fees to attempt to recoup the money and there's still no guarantee it will be repaid.

Most men if their partner tells them "I'm pregnant" - unless she follows it up with information about another man, the assumption is it is his and he doesn't question it, unless there's good reason to suspect infidelity. If a woman has had sex with more than 1 man around the time of conception, she knows it isn't 100% his without a test. She owes it to the child at least to know for sure.

Why do they do it? The guy with the good job is a better mark than the guy she hooked up with on Tinder and women don't want that "choice" taken away from them.
