as the rappers "Injury Reserve" say "F@#k it, Jailbreak the Tesla

electronic cars will have the standard fun police fitted but whats stopping us from jail breaking the software and using our own
the future will be the same except less people will be enthused by electric cars and drive off the shelf models
but really nothing will change.. just technology

I guess the reality is that "Car Enthusiasm" was a "fashion" that had its time.

Cars are a relatively modern invention, so there were no enthusiasts before that.
It's also not surprising that it would evolve and migrate over time.

For my generation, a car & licence meant freedom and coming of age. Not sure it means anything to my kids.

Having a car means extra expenses for most young people. Fuel, rego, insurance, maintenance, etc. It all adds up.

A lot of my friends just use public transport and uber to get around. I couldn't do it but it seems to work out alright for them.

It might cost me more to have my own car but it's well worth it to me.

Yes and testing of automated cars is going on in QLD presently and the Proff in charge admitted on radio yesterday afternoon that autonomous cars are expected to reduce the road toll by 200 per year over the next twenty years. Only being tested in Brisbane not in rural roads. It seems the tech they are using is defeated by the sun in QLD.

Considering the growth in vehicles on the road, the road toll will remain about the same percentage of deaths it is now.
Given the amount of people on our roads - the amount of deaths on the road is acceptable, compare the death toll of the 1970s to now and take into consideration population growth and safety improvements of cars, we do well considering how many people are on the move at any given time.

Cars are definitely safer now. When I totalled my white ba last year I just had a bruised elbow. The car was twisted though.

Boring electric cars of the future will probably have way more performance than today's HP cars.

"Hey dad, look at the funny man in the noisy car trying to keep up with us...."

The end of the mad max era...... it's got nothing to do with speed.

It's the melodic symphony that resonates out of our toxic tailpipes that will capture the imagination of future generations.

And that attitude.......

People are generally enthusiastic for their child hood. The cars dad drove, their first car.

A guy at work at the pub last week was saying he can still access his first car, a Gemini and wants to restore it with his son.

I say, "Gemini, meh". But it was his first car, not mine.
