Default Highway Pursuit

The news showed this highway pursuit, the coppers were chasing this idiot in a ute who went on the incoming lanes. Anyways heres the stupid part, the ute, after trying to avoid the cops for some time, stops at a petrol station to fill up, then leaves without paying.... Couldnt the cops just have taken him down there? Plus they had this all on camera on a helicopter, and they said on channel 10, about an hour ago, that they STILL havent caught the clown. Whats wrong with cops these days? Maybe there was more in the story, but i dont kno, they shouldve gotten him already.

They should have blockaded the servo at least and force him out on foot. Maybe they were concerned the guy would light up the servo.

I think you will find they had to be very careful as they weren't prepared for them to have gone into the servo to start with and I am pretty sure there was a report that the passenger was armed.........
That is why they would not have tried to get them there simply because they would then be in the ИИИИИ with the public for doing so with general public in the area..........

It was a Falcon ute with a female at the wheel, am I right?

I had to look again and again and again. Couldn't make my mind up.

Yes that is correct, a blue falcon ute with a female driving and a male passenger lol (apparently it was female anyway)

This one was in the Loganish area of Queensland. (Not far from Brissy)..

They ended up dumping the ute (and suspected of stealing another vehicle) in Regents Park....

the news i saw showed the helicopter video of the ute pulling into a house not realising the helicopter was watching then when they realised they took off again and went to the servo as the ground cops had lost them for a while so they had a chance to fill up

yes I think that was correct kenz
but the passenger is also wanted for attempted murder if I heard correctly.
Nice people to steer clear of I think.. hopefully the public will help the police catch them fairly quickly, but I dont think they have been caught as yet!

Yeah i think there's more to car chases than one might care to think... watch the ones from the USA and it's usually the exception to the rule that they'll actually attempt to smash them off the road - even at low speeds.

Cant exactly pull a gun on someone in the servo can they....

Was wierd tho... very reminiscent of American TV. I hope we dont adopt a policy of covering chases live... altho guess its not possible seeing as only dedicated aussie news channel is sky news on fox and even they fill about 30% of their air time with NZ, UK and US feeds...

Hehehe, there was one guy on the news clip that obviously thought "bugger this, not like im gonna get done speeding"... passed the car being chased whilst they were dicking around on the wrong side of the road...

Umm ... what you see on TV and read in papers is less than 0.1% of what really goes on out there.

Go an be a cop ... it's an eye-opener ... the stories I have heard from my fiancee's brother are pretty shocking.

I have respect for the cops out there and the crap they have to deal with.

Ok Mechan!k what part do you doubt is correct? Just curious!
The Police site themselves release certain bulletins so as to have the publics help and I usually get my info from there before I say anything to anyone.

I dont know how to make it a clickable link, but this is off the Qld Police site

http://www.police.qld.gov.au/News+an...6/03/mar17.htm

*hoping it works lol

I was meaning in regards to crime and whatnot out there ... even the full events of what happens in some instances ... The Police on let the public know what they want them to know ... even on thier website ... it's selective information.

No one really knows exactly what goes on ... unless you are involved in the actual issue ... hee hee

Also ... saw more info on the news about the ute on the freeway ... was a Commodore ute with the trail bike in the back of it.

Damn the woman that was driving nearly took a bike out in the emergency lane ... that's crazy.

When I first saw it ... I thought it was a later mode Ford X-series ute ... but they showed a closeup on the dumped ute (Looked like a VR/VS) when the cops found it later on
