If you paid with PayPal you can just send it back and get a refund.
No seller can lie about their product in the description and get away with it if the buyer pays with PayPal.

He refunded me real quick when I mentioned paypal being involved,so quick I couldn't leave feedback lol
Then he wanted me to pay return postage, the nerve of some people.
It will get really dusty in my shed if he doesn't send a reply paid post bag!
Just don't want anyone else to get tricked.
If you go to buy a reman part knowing what it is from the outset, all good.

Thanks for that info. You learn something new everyday. Manual Falcons are something of a rarity to me.

I have personally dealt with that seller (in person and have been to his residence where he used to work out of) before and can vouch for his work being of high quality and his service being very good. Strange he would try and flog off those cables as NOS but yes i have seen the listing and assumed they were indeed NOS as left over stock he purchased long ago, but good to know they are not.

Any pics of the actual cable you received? And the reason you believe it is not as good as a NOS one?

Interesting.
I've dealt with him before (when he was working out of home) and was very unimpressed.
Had an oversized cable made for my manual with HD clutch and it lasted only a few weeks before breaking. Where as genuine would last a year before stretching out of adjustment.

That said, believe he is doing OEM work for HSV/Walkinshaw now, which speaks positively for his quality.

He made me custom clutch and throttle cables for my XE ute and went back a few times to adjust the length of both which he happily did free of charge until both fitted and worked perfectly.

Car was only driven for a short time before going into panel shop so not sure on longevity but i have purchased other bits including ute tailgate cables which are of very high quality. This was at least a year ago so not sure if quality is still the same.

I don't have a pic but I can see the cable is not coated, the adjustment nut has no knurling to help stop it turning on its own and one of the pressed on ball ends is different to factory.
The fact that the cable is not coated says it will saw through the sheathing a lot sooner than a coated one,the other differences speak for themselves.
Im not saying its total rubbish but it is inferior quality to genuine,i expected genuine.
He refuses to change his ad so it doesn't say nos either, just shows he doesn't care what buyers think, its not right.
If I wanted a copy cable that I knew was not going to last as long as factory id go to Welshpool to flexidrive, not spend more on ebay just to be deceived.
Ive already received my refund, just letting people know, thats all.
Don't really have much else to say.
Cheers

Yes totally agree if that's the case. I was thinking about getting one to keep as a spare because i thought it was NOS but obviously i won't now, thanks for the heads up.

I will message him however and ask if that is indeed a NOS cable because if so I'd get two And I'd like to pick up.

Seller needs a lesson in NOS.
What he's making/selling is a reproduction (and not even a close one), not NOS.

Clearly false advertising, and good that you've been able to get a result.

This guy from auto cables is a certified froot loop, hes just tracked down my wifes work number(we get parts delivered there) and called her up and had a go at her about negative feedback and complained about not having the cable back yet...
The wife said shes reporting him to ebay for inappropriate behaviour and probably best for me not to call this bloke and give him a piece of my mind which id love to do,unbelievable how some people can try and do you over and still think they have done no wrong...
Id stay a million miles away from this clown!

Report him to eBay for the verbal abuse towards your wife. He has breached the code of conduct for eBay that prevents contact between sellers and buyers outside of the eBay environment.

Mr Auto-Cables deserves what's coming and then some.

I only use ebay if I can avoid using ebay....make sense?

I will only buy from ebay if I can contact the seller direct & conduct business privately. Email or phone call, either way it creates a trail that keeps people honest.

Did this recently with ACA autoparts in North Rocks. http://www.acaautoparts.com/
Saw the ebay ad' for ball joints, googled the company & found a physical address & phone number. Rang them, was told to email the ebay link to them to confirm which part, paid them direct (not credit card) & 7 days later got my parts.
Professional & prompt service, can't ask for more than that!

In my search for parts I also tried to contact Action Driveshafts in Dandenong, they didn't answer the phone

Then there was an ebay seller called "greatdeal2you" http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Front-Bal...wAAOSw3mpXLU9-

I read in their payment options "COD" (cash on delivery), so I ordered the set, waited 5 days & when I checked ebay again they'd messaged me stating they don't offer COD.
I checked the ad' again & fair enough it had been edited some hours prior to exclude COD as a payment option. Nice!
