Well the number plate 273 WQQ is clearly visible so unless it's stolen the owner is probably in jail already.

^^^^ Beat me to it! There you go! Stolen plates!

I think they need to prove who was driving the vehicle. The owner can just say it wasnt him and if he has a good alibi, it might be not as open and shut a case.

Though if you're dumb enough to hit a cop, you deserve to go to Gaol!

I wonder if there will be any unscheduled CCTV camera maintenance at that cop-shop in the not too distant future.

Do HWP not have guns? Mr Plod should have rolled off the falling bike and grabbed his pistol and started shooting like in the movies. But then the police force in Aus is a toothless tiger, and only exert power over them who fear it (the average joe who pulls over and cops the fine on the chin) and the media circus will turn him into the villain instead. More than likely the perpetrator will never be caught.

And thank goodness that Australia and the police here are different to that mentality of the USA police.

Years ago when I was a 14 year old in Africa, my old man came home and the bonnet of his GM was dented in. Turned out he took out a motorcycle policeman. He was never charged and I never got to the bottom of what happened- but seems like both the old man and the motorcycle cop were up to no good in a joint illegal bout of jostling.

My best mate in Africa was a cop, had a Cortina v6 and was racing an Alfa 2.5 v6, in the wet. High speed, the Alfa lost it on a bend, slid, rolled and ended up on the roof.

My mate ran over and yelled- "don't worry I am a policeman."

The guy inside responded "Yeah- well so am I"

Bit hard to whip out a pistol - that is more than likely on his right hip - after a car has smashed into the back of him sending his weight, and the weight of the bike onto his right pocket

If this guy was happy enough to hit a police bike then I suspect hitting a civilian motorcyclist, cyclist or even pedestrian would have been fine to him. As a motorcyclist (even in a different state) I'm glad they caught him.

Did your first girlfriend run away with a policeman or something?

The driver was just a poor drug dealer, you could not shoot a poor person like that or the government and media would come down on the cop, who shot one of there own type of degenerate breed, they can't help it they was born that way don't you know.

But if you just spin your wheels, you know that such degenerates will demand to destroy your car.
But a f knuckle like that driver will be treated with kid gloves nowadays.
Years ago if you tried to do that with a cop, you would end up having dealing with the Irish jig danced on top of your head.

When you are forced to relocate your family interstate at your own expense, because the local constabulary puts the officer in charge of your case on "traffic duties" at the last minute, citing that the police force is understaffed and underpaid, while you have to put up with death threats and harassing phone calls against your family (which have been recorded and played back right before the sergent's ears), I think you too would have a very dim view of the police and highway patrol. Meanwhile, the same local police were not too busy to go door-knocking regarding an alleged traffic offense that took place in the middle of nowhere 400kms away. But anyway, maybe its just how the world works, I might be a massive sulk, so be it.

Motorbike cops, same league as the average HWP but perhaps have less of a chip on their shoulders. Usually their chips take a v8 sedan to move about as its that big and heavy.
