Default ST Focus hatch release HELP

Hello all,
Had the rear bar cover replaced, now the key proximity doses not work. ie you are unable to open the hatch now with out manualy unlocking the car first. Tried both remote keys no different. Spoken to the repairer and visited the dealer, car is booked in for latter in the month. Is this related to the bar being replaced or just coincidental? Any ideas as to what needs reseting and how. The doors all work as they meant too.
John

Had the top section of the rear bumper changed. This section also holds the reversing sensors. These are still operating. Pannel shop claims that the harness was not disconnected, only the sensors were unclipped. for removal and replacement.
