Hey Guys,
Driving a BA F6 Typhoon. Long story short, need the rear rotors replaced. Originally they are running drilled brembo rotors. I have had a look and found replacement drilled Brembo rotors are crazy expensive. Would I be disadvantaging my self if i were to save a bit of cash and replace the drilled rotors with blank rotors? Will I find myself losing performance? Any help would be great. |

For street driving no I doubt there will be any noticable difference
Except it will look odd through the wheels for the front to be slotted / drilled and the rear to be flat

I believe that as the rotors/pads heat up with use they create gas. The slotted rotors allow for the gas to be dispersed when the pads clamp down on the rotors therefore keeping the rotors cooler and allowing better braking by preventing gas buildup. The sponsors from Racebrakes should be able to explain it a bit better.. I wouldn't compromise safety or performance for $ savings..

Ring Auto wholesale Australia in Nth Coburg Vic 03 9354 2962 and be pleasantly suprised, I know they have fronts last time I rang they were working on the rears that was 12 months + ago.

Can't machine the rotors?
Depending on how you drive of course, but Rear rotors should last a pretty long time! |
