Default 1989 turbo capri

Has anyone increased the boost in one of these without upgrading engine parts? If so how much is safe? I am putting a boost controller on mine next week and was hoping to run 13PSI as 6PSI is standard and a little boring.
Yes, I have too many cars. I also have a worked AU sedan and a worked EF wagon as well as my NC Fairlane oh and don't forget the turbo Mazda V6 929 and the NX Coupe.

Ok, boost controller is in. Problem is it only holds 13 PSI for about 2-3 seconds, then drops back to 10 PSI. anyone had this problem? Got an answer on how to fix it? Still has stock exhaust on it. I have been building big motors for 21 years but this is my first time playing with a turbo. I have fitted bigger turbos for customers but never had any problems as they were always on supra's or nissans.

There does not seem to much going on here with these, I might have to buy one so we have something to talk about

Sell it and cut your losses.
The rest of the car isn't up to it. If you persist then a large exhaust is first.
Soggy chassis, FWD etc.

you know you'll lean the motor out and detonate it unless you got a fuel up to the job

sounds like a boost cut on the ecu to me though

Boost cut is disabled. I might as well sell it and buy a brand new fpv gt( not everyone is rich)!!!!!

Exhaust is one thing I would be upgrading asap including a bigger dump pipe etc, then look at getting the car tuned to suit. Im by no means an expert on turbo capri's, but pushing more boost through an otherwise stock exhaust and no tuning to cater for the extra fuel needed to the top end is a disaster waiting to happen.
