Question Ebay ball joints- good or not?

G'day guys, i just had a look on ebay for some ball joints for my au and found a bargain- complete set, upper and lower driver & passenger sides for around $60-$70. My question is will they be good quality or not? As a ebay noob (just registered recently), i'm not sure to buy em or not but for the price of them they're sure enticing! Bursons wanted around $70-$80 upper and lower for 1 side only. I know which way i'de like to go but not sure.
Any advice would be much appreciated thanks.

cheers Maka

Is that from a seller called suzuki spares (or something like that)? If so, I have them and the guys that installed them said they looked OK.

Thay also do reco steering racks at good prices. I've had both in my cars over the years (ie their racks and ball joints).

Great info JC thanks for the heads up! I'll put Suzukisuper (thats their name) on my favourites list. I'm going to rip out both upper and lower wishbones (driver&passenger side) and get a local mechanic to press out the old ball joints and install the new ones then get a wheel alignment. The old girl (my au) is about to get a freshen up in some certain area's and once the work is carried out she'll be going like a beauty again-not that she's going so bad now! She's a tough old b#%* lol!

I am always a bargain too but you need to answer this question first. What happens if a ball joint fails?

I tend to be a little more cautious with ball joints, tie rods etc...

hope it goes well for you

cheers

yeah i was about to say you know you need a press, right? Not something you can just do in your backyard.
What happens if a ball joint fails? All sorts of nasty stuff. You can usually tell that they're on their way out - if the car is 'crashing' over small bumps but not over big ones - they're gawn!

Thanks for the replies guys, i think blumx was meaning the safety aspect of using cheaper ball joints (not necessarily bad quality because they're cheaper in my opinion- the more you buy the cheaper they cost?) Mr Hardware and i thank him for his concern. Thats why i posted this thread in the first place to find out if indeed they're up to the job. JC has a complete set installed in his front end and as he said the guy who installed them said they're ok. I suppose time will tell if they're good or not but i do trust JC's opinion. They come from a dedicated front end supplier and i'm pretty sure they wouldnt sell any old crap! Mr Hardware theres only somethings you can do in your backyard when servicing your car and pressing out old balljoints in a good press for me is not one of them lol! Thanks for your advice mate.

Kind reagards

You're quite right maka and you're right to trust JC - I'm on my 3rd AU which is positively amateur compared to him.
