Question Brand New Suzuki Swift dealer problems.

Hey guys, Just wanting to know what you guys would do before I do something which could make things worse, I dunno.

Anyway, my Girlfriend just traded her 2008 base model Swift in for a 2010 R.E.4 Swift (Rally edition)

We went to pick it up a month or so ago, and after we drove off all happy I relaised the R.E.4 Decal sticker which is a long sticker the length of the boot was not on there.
We turned back and asked the lady dealer where it is and why is it not on the car. She apologised and said its in the boot and then she said that my Girlfriend should have asked for it to be put on when she ordered the car. I said thats total B.S. anyway she said they will put it on on the cars first 1,000km service.

So she took it in last week and Suzuki ended up taking the car to the Holden Dealer next door to service as they fired their in house mechanic. And still no sticker! My girlfriend asked about the sticker and he said that its a production line thing and he would not put it on as it would be all bubbly.

SO! what would you guys do? I know its only a sticker but, you know, its her brand new car and she wants it to look like what she ordered.

I could put it on myself with vinigar spray but I dont want to, and now I dont really want their new mechanic to do it now either.
Should I get a quote from a pin-striping shop and show them?

Thoughts?

is there such a thing as a pin striping shop?

and they do stickers and decals?

I'm not taking the Pi$$ but I thought the stick on pin stripes were just done by thouse guys in the vans that come out to the used car yards and I didnt think there would be enough work to actualy open a shop front to apply stick on stripes

and actual pinstriping like this

is doen like this

or

I would have just gone to a sign writer that does vinal signs and had them do it

I would also be mighty pi um upset at the dealer for not steping up and organising it, I would prefer them to do it as if there is an issue like bubbels they will have to sort it, if you or your pinstriping shop man muffs it up your up for another decal

Windsor220 yes it was -that exact dealer your thinking of!

And yes what I meant by a pin-striping shop is a graphic shop/signwriter for company cars and so on like you mentioned Yeti.

I dont think im cool with the idea of them doing it in house as im sure its going to be bubbly or squewiff. Im aware to spray the surface with Vinigar before applying the sticker so it can be moved around till its perfect and left to dry but I dont want to do it on her car, id do it to my own but not someone elses.

Could you possibly take it to a different dealer? If another dealer steps up and does the right thing by you, then you will have also found a new servicing dealer too.

Ring the Dealer Principal, he's the head honcho at the dealership. Tell him if you don't get service you're going to ring A Current Affair, that always seems to get action.

Crikey could you imaging picking up your new GT Falcon and no stripes "Oh sorry, you didn't stipulate that you actually wanted them on the car, they're in the boot".

Like you said mate, total BS. Chuck a hissy fit until you get what you paid for.

Most dealerships have guys that come around to fit decals. I don't see why they are making it so hard.

Ring the sales manager and whinge......

OK now im getting angry again,
YEH! imagine If I did by a GT falcon and the stripes were in the boot!!! I know its only a swift but its all relative and its the principal of it.
Ill ring the Principal dealer/sales manager tomorrow and tell em whats going on and Ill tell em Ill ring Suzuki Australia HQ.
If ultimatly no joy comes from this ill take it to a guy to put them on and forget about it.

Thanks guys.

Just to add, the fact they didnt put it on is a blessing in disguise. Most dealers cant even put their own dealer sticker on straight and without bubbles, can you imagine the disaster if they tried to put a full length one on the boot.

Don’t even bother with the dealer.
Go straight to Suzuki and complain like stink. Tell them you want it professionally fitted, and that your GF deserves some gift to make up for all the stuffing around.
If you get no joy, just forget it, and get a shop to do it for you.
And yes, there are several around. Most commercial signage on vans is done with vinyl now, rather than actual signwriting.

no point doing it yourself and sending them a bill, they'll laugh and send it back. contact Suzuki HQ customer relations and ask them how their supposed quality control lets a car arrive in a customer's hands incomplete and how they plan to rectify.

I'd also be checking the rear of the car thoroughly for accident damage in case the missing sticker is an indication that the boot has been resprayed or replaced.
