Default iPod Integration - LS Focus

I've just been mucking round on the Ford Website looking at Focus accessories and I see one there for iPod integration.

Now I realise that would be for the current model, but just wondering if it is backwards compatible and would work with a 2005 LS Zetec?

If not its all good, I'm toying with the idea of a touchscreen anyway (like I had in the AU) which would have that along with a heap more features. But for now, that iPod integration is fairly cheap and something I'd like to consider if it would work with the LS.

I'm guessing you're talking about more than using the auxiliary input found in the glovebox right?
I'd also like to map the back and next tracks to work with my iPod and focus ls audio controls on the steering wheel

Correct. I'm talking about being able to shut the iPod in the glovebox and be able to control it from the head unit, instead of having to touch it to change tracks and whatnot.

I really don't think it would be possible with the screen on the stock stereo to be able to show artist and album names and such, but it might be?

Might just bite the bullet and ask a Ford dealer to see what they say.
