Default There letting it come to Aust!

Just heard on the news that there letting the Ashes come to Australia next year... The bastards, im hoping that we do win it back so finally we can have the ashes where its meant to have been for the last 16 or so years...

Lol. I was going to jokingly post in an ashes thread that now that we lost it shouldnt we get to have the ashes as thats how its worked for england so far.

If the ashes come here we should get to keep em indefinately.

The actual urn will be coming.

They were going to bring it to celebrate the centenary of cricket a while ago, however x-rays showed that it was way too fragile. It has undergone restoration work and the MCC is allowing it to fly here, but it will stay under the watchful eye of historians and the like to make sure it stays out of reach of people and that it is treated with absolute care.

I love my cricket, but if encasing it in cement means it's the last time the Poms ever get to see the ashes again, it's worth it!!
