Why is it sad? This is not at all a list of 'most popular', far from it, in fact many of these cars probably don't sell all that well.

It was for 'most fuel efficient'... remember?

I drive a car on that list BTW... not because it was efficient, but.. well I just wanted it.... Make of that what you will. Sad?? :

Yeah had a couple at work, poor build quality, all the trim kept falling apart, issues with the engine and electrics, good idea poorly executed.

And an Audi A5 ! very cool.

4 . Fiat 500
5 . Fiat Punto
8 . Citroen C3
10 . Volkswagen Golf
13 . Audi A3
15 . Audi A5
17 . Peugeot 207
18 . Peugeot 308
19 . Audi A4
20 . Citroen C4
The Fiat 500's not bad but good luck trying to get all 6"4' of me to comfortably fit in one! I didn't notice the A5 so you got me there. The Peugeots and Citroens... um no thanks. And please no dissing the EA, it's got a hell of a lot more character than some of these newer cars.

Only until the VW blue motion polo comes in, and expect the cruze 1.4 turbo to make it to the top 20 fuel efficient cars when its released.

I have a VW golf 1.4 twin charger, number 10 on that list. 118kw and 240nm with a torque range from about 1750 - 4500 rpm and only 6.3L/100k's.... awesome car, small capacity turbos is the future or petrol cars.

Hmm really surprised that there is no mention of the re-engineered army tanks on the list, Arnies vehicle of choice the Humvee...

I'd love to see a list of top ten gas guzzlers under $100K. More relevant I'd think.

On the most efficient list I'd take an Audi A4/A5. The rest don't appeal to me at all.

Gigantor is your new name.

It depends though, you could probably be 6"6' and be medium or skinny build, or you could be a fat bastard at 6 foot like me and be uncomfortable in similar cars. My cousin's MX5 was a bit of a squeeze and uncomfortable.
