Default A couple of shockers this week.
Hey all just a few scary sights from work this week.


An auto electrician with way too much time on his hands.


This one is just scary we had to replace the piston as it had groves worn in it from the rotor. Yep these people are out there the same ones that run up your backside an say sorry mate it just would not stop gee I wonder why.

Love the brakes - how could you not know your disc(s) were that bad....... :

I have had a couple of cars come in to work with the rotors like that too...

Usually BMW drivers... That'll teach them for having such soft rotors on the cars

excuse my ignorance but am i missing something here? I've never seen rotor of that kind before!!

Is that the actual inner side of the rotor?

Yep, what you are seeing is the air ducting vanes on the inside...priceless...I saw a few examples of this at TAFE back in the 1980's but never up close thank god...

That is a photo of a rotor where the driver has run the pads out till the metal rubs, thin until the metal has gone, then has started to wear the piston. it has worn the disc face away, and shows the cooling vanes from the centre of the disc!

is that the back of a territory center unit?

what could be a reason to do a dodgy fit up like that.????

Because most people that pull these units out don't realise that the big white plug that is captive in the dash actually doesn't come out.If you do actually get it to come out it doesn't go back in and you have to dodgy it up like this or replace the complete dash loom.

or you could buy a plug from jaycar with some pins and make it a plug again.

i've seen worse rotor wear... believe it or not...

on the back of an old laser.... the rotor was paper thin on one side.. and basically gone on the other side...
