I was looking at that as well. I would actually prefer Maxshine Mini Cordless Polisher kit that DFB posted about before because that is more or less the same price, but can run in rotary and dual action mode.

Pity Waxit doesnt stock that one.

Yeh, ive already got the cordless shinemate RO and rotary 15mm and 21mm as well, so im keen to get rid of the last of my corded machines.

I already have a mini rotary but it's corded. It rips through imperfections like a champ, i use it a lot but i also use the 3" pads mostly which the Maxshine doesnt support. I also only want a rotary in the mini, dont think id use the RO. Actually, i probably would, i've smashed a few plastics and burnt through using rotary a few times when learning

Emailed Detailing Shed about the Maxshine, next shipment is 10 weeks away, looks like it's the Shine Mate.

I use my Nano mostly in rotary mode now.

You can only fit the smaller pad in rotary mode, not an issue really. I like the rotary is more controlled, posing less risk of knocking surrounding trim or paint via the D/A movement.

Really handy for cutting in around the edge of glass too.

I like that one. Its just the moral dilemma of supporting knock-off's or not that I battle with myself.

Very true, I try not to do it but sometimes the big brands do it to themselves.

If you look at the battery Shine Mate range, they were made in response to Flex battery models.

Flex is very expensive in Australia, paying that much for hobbyist use is a little hard to swallow.

https://detailingshed.com.au/collect...ishers-germany

When I bought my iBrid, there weren't many alternatives, so I paid the $1200 for one. I don't regret the purchase at all, it such a lovely little thing to use and as mentioned, the choice wasn't really there at the time. But it is taking the p..s a little at that price.

That thing served me so well, glad to hear it's still kicking along 12 years later. That machine was the start of my detailing obsession.

I'm not getting the mini rotary, when buying machine only Waxit doesn't include the pads, so they can get stuffed.

Took advantage of a 25% off sale at Adam's Australia last week.

https://adamspolishes.com.au/

I don't shop with Adam's much, mainly because the product is so expensive for what it is. At 25% off, the product seems much more palatable.

All bar Slick and Slide I have not used. Having said that, I haven't used this "version" of Slick and Slide.

B&B Blending make products for a variety of detailing brands, including Adam's. In theory, if I wanted to start my own brand, let's say "DFB's Garage", I would choose a lineup of products from their catalog and have them bottled and labeled.

A lot of the smaller brands get their products this way, often you can see similarities in bottle design and product colouring. For example, take a look at The Detail Geek Auto Care and you will see a lot of synergy with the Adam's brand.

https://detailgeekautocare.com/

I mention this because Adam's Slick and Slide is made by B&B with "Slipstream" being their name for the product.

https://www.bbblending.com/project/slipstream/

B&B Slipstream is also sold under the Xtreme Solutions brand as "Topper" and in scent and colourless form, Obsessed Garage Drying Aid.

https://www.877askxtreme.com/store/p...yvd58rjwqstiqr
https://www.obsessedgarage.com/colle.../og-drying-aid

The key part I like about Slipstream/OG Drying Aid/Slick and Slide is this -

" Suitable over any base surface protection, whether it is a polymer sealant, wax, or any coating."

This means it can be used on any type of LSP and in theory play well with whatever is underneath it.

An impulse buy from yesterday

Daughter had to go to officeworks and there was a repco next door. Thought I'd wander in to see if they had any of those wheel chocks that stop your hose getting caught. They didn't, but walked out with this mitt.

I don't have any naked glass but hopefully it works just as well with carpro clarify.

I have something similar called the Smitten from The Rag Company, it's ok but not great and I don't like how thin it is. I would be interested to see how you find the Inta Mitt.

Bowdens blurb said less is more when it comes to glass cleaning product. They are referring to their own product, naked glass. I used carpro clarify but used the same application directions. So only 2 mists on to the glove to start and then only 1 mist after that. Did a full window or half windscreen at a time. The glass comes up invisible but the mitt didn't really glide over the surface, however I'm prepared to admit that maybe carpro clarify needs more product on the mitt. It did improve the more I used it. It was great being able to just rub with one side and then flip it to buff any residue. Using minimal product meant the buffing side stayed dry. Once the two surfaces become too wet, it can be turned inside out and good to go again. It was only $18 so I'm happy with it. Probably wouldn't pay much more than that.

Picked up a new sprayer to have a play with today, a Solo 460Li Battery Powered Sprayer -

https://duralirrigation.com.au/colle...967f3a7f&_ss=r

This sprayer has a 1 liter capacity and able to spray continuously for up to 60 minutes, recharging in 90 minutes. The battery and pump are mounted in the head of the sprayer and the pickup tube has a weighted end/filter to stay immersed in liquid even when tilted.

Where a traditional sprayer would have a trigger, these had a pressure sensor/button to activate the pump. Spray output is controlled or adjusted just like any sprayer tip.

Spray output is strong and consistent, providing anything from a fine mist to a strong shot like a water pistol.

I didn't necessarily buy this with detailing in mind, more so for use with pesticides or other plant remedies. However, I can see this being a really handy tool where bulk amounts of certain cleaners are used, where repeated triggering could become uncomfortable. Rinse-less washing pre-soak for example. Or perhaps for administering a clay lubricant or iron remover. Could also be handy for vinyl wrapping, PPF installations and window tinting. I'm going to try this out with some McKee's N-914 Rinse-less.

Repco also have 25% off Rupes at the moment, online only though.

https://www.repco.com.au/en/search/?text=rupes

Rupes are quite often excluded from sales, so could be a chance to jump in on this.

These sprayers are currently on sale for anyone interested, I course bought two more!

Speaking of sprayers, and I have known about this for a while now, but Detailing Shed have added Pressol to their range.

https://detailingshed.com.au/collect...action-sprayer

These sprayers rose to notoriety via Obsessed Garage a few years ago and have been improved and modified to suit the wide range of chemicals used in the detailing arena.

While I have been very happy with the Kwazar Mercury that I have a cabinet full of, these Pressol sprayers very good too. You pay for that excellence though, the usual you get what you pay for stacks up here.

I note the Detailing Shed range is currently focused on the "Industrial" design bottle and sprayer head. My experience to date has been with the "Household" versions.

Both Industrial and Household versions feature the same double action trigger as the Kwazar's, spraying on the squeeze and the release. They also atomise liquids very well and are very ergonomic to use.

So which is better, Kwazar or Pressol? I would say neither, both are top level sprayers. For me, I like the design and colours of the Kwazar better. Although, and this is hard to put into words, but the Pressol's feel more technical in their action.

It will have been covered before but, I'm going to coat my car with two coats of colonite 845 wax. Whats the latest and greatest product to put on top? Bead Machine, Fully Slick, Meguiars Hyrbid wax or something else?

Collinite seems to play well with a variety of toppers. I have three that come to mind would be great, all I use as a drying aid but can be used on dry paint too -

Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer - this is so easy to use and very forgiving. It's pretty expensive at full retail, so shop around, Repco have it on sale at the moment.

Adam's Slick & Slide - again, a really easy to use product, and again pretty expensive for what it is, so wait until on sale. Adams have a 20% off Fathers Day sale on at the moment, use the code DAD to get 20% off the marked price.

P&S Bead Maker - this is hard to beat for gloss, it doesn't last long but is easy enough to use after each wash. Smells great too.
