Any idea where the convertibles will start at? Will there be ecoboosts or only the V8s. I have seen a pic of a GT convert but thats all so far.

Surely you will be able to buy your 5.0 Mustang GT from Ford in Australia and then take it to Herrod who will be able to Roush it up (including SC) ?

True, but depends how you want to go about it. If you want to keep it looking stockish under the bonnet (i.e. to keep the popo at bay) yet still have a lot of options for mods, then starting with a blown base is much more practical...not to mention more cost effective. Same for those who'd want to keep it legal. If it doesn't come with a blower and you throw one on then technically you need to take it over the pits and also pass an emissions test.

In the world of high horsepower cars, every time a new sports car comes out tuners rush to be the “first” to take these cars to the next level of performance. Ford decided that with the 2015 Mustang, they wanted to be the first to reach several performance milestones, including take the four-cylinder Mustang EcoBoost down the quarter-mile in less than 13 seconds.
The 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine is rated at 310 horsepower and up to 32 MPG on the highway, but buyers are most intrigued by how it will perform at the drag strip. For the .99 Challenge, Ford Racing took through 2015 Mustangs with three goals in mind; a supercharged 10-second run, a naturally-aspirated 11-second run, and a EcoBoost-powered 12-second run, using just a few modifications, “few” being a relative term. The 5.0 liter V8-powered Mustang GT was outfitted with a supercharger for the 10-second challenge, going down the 1,320 in 10.97 seconds at 128 MPH, just barely squeaking under Ford Racing’s goal. The naturally aspirated 5.0 Mustang did better, using just bolt-ons and racing slicks to shoot down the quarter-mile in 11.77 seconds at 116 MPH. Yet it was the Mustang EcoBoost, with just a new exhaust, engine calibration, rollcage, slicks, subframe, and driveshaft modifcations that delivered the biggest surprise. The Mustang EcoBoost managed a 12.56 E/T with a trap speed of 109 MPH, within spitting distance of V8-powered Mustang GT. Maybe I’ve underestimated the 2015 Mustang EcoBoost? http://http://gas2.org/2014/09/29/vi...s-12s-already/ |

Because the Mustang dose not need them the Mustang badge is just as recognizable as the Ford badge.

Hasn't been a Ford badge since the S197 came out, for the reason as mentioned above.
Ford is imprinted into the faux gas cap and Powered By Ford on the 5.0 and the only other place is the logo comes up on the touch screen. |

I receive a Newsletter from SVT Performance from time to time and spend some time on their Forum.
Here's a link to a video on a cat-back exhaust system. http://www.svtperformance.com/?p=6756 There's just going to be so much aftermarket gear available for these babies!!

Because mustangs traditionally don't have ford badges. Between 64-68 then 74-79 there was the F O R D lettering on the bonnet, Fox bodies had ovals, but since 1993 there has been no Ford oval on the 'stang...

Most XRT owners probably wouldn't be seen dead in a 4 cyclinder Mustang.

That all depends on who you ask. I'm actually going to a muscle car show today, ill see if I can ask some Mustang owners what they think of 4 cylinder Mustangs and if they would have one of them in their car.

One of the reviews I've seen on the 2015 Mustang said, if you are a muscle car fan, than the V8 is the one to pick and you will get a great muscle car. However if you are a sportscar fan than go for the 4 cylinder, you will get a great pony car and you won't be disappointed.

Well if you don't tell them it's a new 2015 Mustang and the 4 cyl you are talking about is a 2.3L EcoBoost with 230 kW / 430Nm @ 2,500 rpm, while getting 7L/100km, then chances are their perception of what you might be talking about might not be good. But if that's the answer you need to justify your inclination for a V8, then you don't really need to even ask the question. One thing's for sure, I am not going to seek my friend's approval on any of my next car purchases. When people make recommendations to others, they seldom put their money where their mouth is.
