If WA is anything to go by, the reason for using the Holden ute over the Falcon is simple.
Over here, the boys driving the Holden sedans hated the fact that the BA/BF utes were able to keep up. (when in a chase or Priority call) Of course, they were very quick to point out that it never happened....
