I think most people are calling it 'FZ' with Z being the last last letter in the alphabet to go with the 'LAST FALCON' then others (myself including) assume it may follow suit after the FG, next letter in series would be 'FH'...like ford did with the ba/bf etc.

Perhaps they might invite some of the members here, like they did with the EcoBoost.

To be honest, I always thought the VX Calais looked fantastic, especially the back.

Actually agree and the VX being one of the better Commodores in looks. I am sure there will be similarities to compare to another model The new F Front has been compared to Aston Martin ..... which I am sure is better than what the VF has been described as

I really like what Nikked has done with the 'Wishful thinking' interior. It could be a small possibility we would get something like that. However if it was made I'd take that interior over the VF anyday. Looks great, and possible to make.

Is it me or is it that what was supposed to be just some front and rear sheetmetal changes, new transmission (from Falcon EcoBoost) and a bit more tech that it has taken Ford quite a while to do? Considering they've done quite a large amount of testing (still today) and it's been about 2 and a half years since they started working on the 2014 Falcon.

Could we maybe be expecting a bit more?

VF has dated quickly in my opinion, sure they looked good on release but looking much older today. Fingers crossed for the Ford update to be a bit more substantial.

Just call it 201x and you would be correct, until it officially gets a model code designation.

I would love to see the models go down a nostalgic path to farewell the falcon. If there is one tool Ford Australia has at its disposal, it's a rich heritage and following yet they seem reluctant to use it to sell cars (just imagine what they could have charged for the GT-F had they called it a GT-HO). It could look something like this:

Falcon XT = Falcon 500
G6 = Futura
G6E = Fairmont
G6ET = Fairmont GXL or ESP
XR6 = XR6
XR6T = XR6T
XR8 = XR8 Sprint

Yep great idea, maybe SXR6. I definitely wouldn't name it after the super rare EB SS!

I personally really liked the EA Falcon's look, front and rear.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong. But apparently the EA Falcon's design (which was based a little bit from the Ford Scorpio's front) was one of the best looking cars in the world for it's size. I think the biggest letdown for the EA was how they rushed to get it out 6 months before the VN. Otherwise the EA could of outsold the XF.

For memory as well, the EA was the biggest and most complex project ever taken by manufacturer in Australia, around about $700million was spent on it and I think the record was ruined by the $1 billion dollar baby VE Commodore.

Well, it is Wheels Magazine and they were probably wide of the mark. They got the coil sprung wagon wrong as well as the ute/panel van (which didn't happen until much later)

EA26 had far too many shortcomings to be a viable seller around the world, unless they released it overseas with the 4 speed auto, improved 4.0 litre engine and IRS from the get go. Which would never have happened anyway.

I honestly thought they would have gotten into big trouble for that, seeings it (like you said) was 3 years away and could of impacted on XF sales and ruined the launch plans for Ford.

Risky move I reckon, especially how still today Ford are protective about leaked images of the 2014 Falcon.

Yeah compared to today it's crazy that they would just do that.
I'm pretty sure I have another 85 wheels/motor that references it winning design comps & beating out Mercs....etc
Will have to dig through my mag piles.

Thought pics of the EA were leaked? Could explain the early marketing.
