My Pops XD Fairmont. I was only about 4 I think. It must have been a Ghia cause it had velour(?) trim and power windows and a V8. That's my first real memory of Pops Fords, and what sticks in my mind is how comfy and luxurious it felt. Dad tells me Pop had a lot of nice V8 Fords, he worked for a funeral director in Auckland and drove a lot of County sedans and other big wagons/hearses. He had a few Luxury pack XA and XB Falcons V8s of course, and Fairlanes for his family cars. Nana always had a Laser and Pop always had the newest model Falcon until he got on in years, then he sold the falcon and started buying Telstars. He always had the Ghia models with electric this and power that, to a young boy that was just the coolest..
