Ford is donating the first publicly available version of the highly anticipated Falcon XR8 Sprint – one of the most powerful and high-tech Falcon’s ever – to fund local innovation for the JDRF Artificial Pancreas Project, which is exploring how to automate insulin pumps and deliver improved therapies and ultimately a ‘technological cure’ for type 1 diabetes (T1D).
The auction of the vehicle will run from May 7 through midnight on May 31, 2016. The specific vehicle will be a six-speed manual in ‘Winter White’ colour. Proceeds raised by the auction will support JDRF’s innovative Artificial Pancreas Program aimed to decrease the burden of T1D. Falcon Sprint Series development and innovation Ford’s Asia-Pacific Product Development team based in Melbourne developed the limited-edition, high-performance XR6 Sprint and XR8 Sprint series sedans. The vehicles sold out in a matter of weeks after being revealed. The vehicles feature significant suspension improvements and high-performance tyres to match the vehicles’ dynamic capability. |
